Mangiapane leads the AHL in points thanks to a 1g + 1a night.

Great to see Mangipane still producing without Janko centering his line anymore. He just might be ready for NHL by next season at this rate!
Likely the next call-up if further injuries on the wing. I'd rather see him get a cup of coffee than Hathaway so he can get a sense of what he needs to work on in Stockton for next year's push.

I'm quite sure that Mangiapane would be a lot more effective in the NHL than Hathaway, even this season, since he is just so much more talented and has higher IQ. Very scrappy player as well, so he would fit in well on any line and in any role most likely. Probably not bad for his development to keep dominating in the AHL though.

To defend Hathaway - he is top ten in AHL scoring right now with 9 points in 7 games which is pretty impressive given his style of play.

Why next season? He's ready now.
Prospect aged players that produce at over a PPG pace in the AHL are ready for the NHL. There is a pretty solid body of evidence to support this.
the NHLe number for the AHL is 0.44, EatBread is scoring at 1.71 PPG (0.44*1.71 = 0.7525. 0.75x82=61.5) That translates to 60 points in the NHL over a full season. That's just a rough number. He could produce at half that pace and outscore the entire bottom 6 on the Flames roster.
He's ready. If I'm Tre - Glass and Hamilton are gone, and they don't come back. We've got two NHL ready prospects, not just Janko.
