Lindholm scores in the last game of the season. Before that he went 27 straight games without a goal. So your confidence seems misplaced.

Okay so what is the worst that could happen in a trade between the two?
Also nice to have a RW that has a great faceoff percentage

If the deal is Hamilton for Lindholm and Hanafin, I woudn't like to lose Ferland, but hell if its Brodie and Ferland you dont hesitate.

Honestly don't think Lindholm is the answer. I feel like he is just a Backlund 2.0 which is valuable but we already have one and doesn't address the underlying issue plaguing this team: putting the damn puck in the net.
The only part of this Hanifin + Lindholm for Hamilton proposition that entices is me is honestly Hanifin, but I think this is pure speculation. Why TF would Carolina trade Hanifin? Especially with Faulk already likely to go, who is going to be the 'the guy' on that blue line? Completely unfounded in my opinion. We have to look at these trade proposals from a perspective other than our own.
Flames need an established scorer. No more games.

I have no problem with acquiring Lindholm for the right price. I just don’t like people crapping on Ferland. Ferland had a great year and is on a great contract. If you get 20 goals out of a guy making less than 2M that’s a win, regardless of when during he season he scored them.

Then I think we are fighting different fights, I agree.
On the Lindholm is Backlund 2.0, well awesome, 7 years younger, more of a scoring touch i believe in him, can also learn from him, as well as our huge pipeline of defenceman prospects which will be cheap on entry level which allows us to spend up front.
I like Douggie but him and a second or throw in for those two is a win for us. You have to take chances to win. Bennett didn't work out yet, so you have to roll the dice else where or else you are just spinning your tires until everyone is too expensive to keep or leaves via FA.

Faceoff percentage? Really? The flames need offense, they need goals. Career years for Johnny, Monahan, ferland, Hamilton and tkachuk and we still struggled to score. Now we want to replace 21 goal ferland with 16 goal lindholm. How are we getting better or addressing our needs?

That is just silly. You really don't think Lindholm scores more than 16 playing with those two?
Come on man. I'm just saying the sky is higher for him, and like i said before i dont believe it would be fair for Ferland to be the throw in if Hamilton is the one involved. Lower draft pick or like we always say Shinkaruck or Klimmy

Lindholm scored 9 PP points, 6 goals last year on an avg of 2:40 of PP time on the hurricanes. Ferland scored 6 pts, all goals with 1:50 per game on the pp.
Both disappeared down the stretch.
He's 10 goals better than ferland how?

So, here's a novel idea... how about we try to get Lindholm without giving up Hamilton? You know, that whole "let's try filling a hole in our roster without creating a different hole somewhere else" thing.

You can quote stats all you'd like and I get it, but you are seriously saying that Ferland scores the same on Carolina and Lindholm scores the same playing on our top line?
Like lets be somewhat reasonable here and use common sense.

No because then we'd lose Ferland and as I have just learnt we'd get worse...

Is is likely that at some point before the Seattle expansion draft we will want to drop down to three defensemen who we can't afford to lose. Given that other teams will likely be in the same situation it's possible that there's value in being ahead of a market shift.

How about Brodie and Bennet + some lower pick for Lindholm and Hanifin? I am not sure how much value Bennet has as of now though or if Canes would be interested in him. They are stacked with young offensive players right now.

If Carolina agreed to Brodie and Bennett for Lindholm and Hanafin, the deal would be done, that's a steal for the Flames.
I'd be ok if they didn't go after Hanafin, he hasn't impressed that much IMO. They shouldn't be targeting D at this point, they should trade D for help up front.

Brodie+Bennett does not equal Hamilton
People continue to say “why don’t we trade Brodie?”
The Flames might be be prepared for a return that matches his value. We can sell extremely low on Brodie and Bennett but don’t expect the same return that we would get by dealing Hamilton.

What does Ferland have to do with it?
