Terrible website / details. I still have no idea what this is. Do the participating restaurants each have a special burger you can buy where money goes to charity? That's my best guess.
That does not help. You have linked me to information about the charity that the event supports, not what the event itself is. Was I right in my assumption? Is there some passport you fill out to compare the burgers to determine who wins? Or is it just, "hey, if you buy a specific type of burger at any of these places this week part of your bill goes to support this charity"?

It seems hidden under some pages for the participating restaurants:
Restaurants are responsible for pricing their burgers accordingly, with 15% of each burger sold to be donated to this year’s charity (The Alex Community Health Centre).
To win the 2018 YYC Burger Battle, restaurants will be competing in three categories:
Popular vote determined by text votes.
Most burgers sold.
Most money raised for our selected charity.
There will be a final round for the top three restaurants in each of these categories with a judged round by a panel to determine the ultimate YYC Burger Battle champion.
I had the impossible burger at Umami in NYC today. I'd say it's the best veggie burger I've had. As for replacing beef I'm not as sure. I'll have to try it again with more standard ingredients, less Umami...

I've been reading that the impossible burger is quite a bit more expensive compared to a similar beef burger. Was that true in your case?
^^^^ I tried ordering that secret Double Grilled Cheeseburger from Five Guys today. The lady had no idea what I was talking about. I then tried describing the burger I wanted and the lady told me that their regular cheeseburger has two patties and cheese, and recommended I order that. I then explained this was off the menu and it was like I blew her mind. She pointed to the menu and told me they only serve what's on the menu. Has anyone actually ordered from Five Guys' secret menu or is this secret menu only available in the US?

Good solid burger. If you are travelling in the East Kootenays give it a try. Downtown Cranbrook with a roof top patio, they had reused an old fire hall.

I had the impossible burger at Hopdoddy in Austin. It's a really good patty when you aren't in a meat mood (although their bison is amazing there)

I love the Rock. I think I've posted about it here before, but your review is right that it's a hole in the wall that most people wouldn't notice even if you drive by it every day. I suggest going back and trying the wild game burgers.

I tried the Beyond Meat burger at A&W yesterday. It resembles a regular burger for the most part in taste and texture but it's not quite perfect. It does taste good if you're a fan of A&W.
If you're looking to cut out meat I'd say it's a pretty good facsimile of a fast food burger.

Going to make stuffed burgers tomorrow, what are some must try versions? Going to have creamy Mack and cheese, bacon and cheese.
I might make a different one for each (5) of us so looking for some inspiration.
I am also interested in this.
I was planning on making some small, stuffed burgers for a kid's birthday party. I was thinking of maybe just pressing a kraft single between a couple of 1/8lb patties and sealing them around the edges. Is there an alternate way of stuffing them that's better? Looks like some online recipes show jamming the stuffed ingredients through the edge. Would that hold up better during grilling?

Stuffing the ingredients right up to the edge wouldn't allow for any containment, it would leak out during cooking. Also I would suggest using real cheddar cheese as those plastic singles will just disintegrate, otherwise happy grilling 👍

I stuffed a kind of Greek salad (toss red onion, olives, feta cheese, spinach & oregano in quality olive oil and a little balsamic vinegar) into a lamb burger and it was truly amazing. On the grill you will get decent flare up so I suggest a quick sear on the bottom grill and then finish either on the BBQ's top rack or in the oven
