April 18th is too late for the regular season to end.
Too many CBA mandated breaks.

I agree, but unfortunately, a lot of U.S. owners don't. Some teams don't even want to have home games in October if they can help it.

Apparently the Yanks have this thing called ‘baseball’ going on at that time of year, which is a big deal for some reason. It's a weird country.

Which has just created a more compacted season and more injuries.

Let's get this win over with and start making some trades going into the draft. The new Young Guns era begins!

Thank goodness this sh*tbox of a season is almost done. What a crap year to be a Flames fan (not that we didn't have a pretty good idea going into it).

The highlights are few...Sharky, Kuzy, Connie, some Kadri and Popsicle, a bit of Zary and for a while, Marky.

Lowlights are legion: Zadorov, Lindy (except for what he brought back in trade), Hanifin, losing to every bottom-feeder possible all season long until it didn't matter, Huska not understanding how to call TimeOuts, and generally underpeforming players in general. At the bottom of all the big guns is Huberdeau; marginally better than last year, but far from ... good.

Let's hope the Greasers get punished for our sins.

^ Same. It was actually really enjoyable. Fun hockey was played. Far more entertaining than last year.

Yes. Zary, Pospisil and letely Coronato were fun to watch, Kadri was better, Weegar was better, Markstrom was better Huberdeau was better outside of December when he was bad. Plus Sharangovich and Kuzy were fun adds.

Also a bit jaded because I got lucky and saw more wins live than the year before.

zero chance that Wolf starts or even plays a game in the AHL next season, short of an injury/conditioning stint.

Yeah I enjoyed this season way more than last. Part of it was not having to grapple with falling short of lofty expectations (important life lesson in there), part that the team was just more engaged and competitive all season (even if it didn’t have the horses to win). Some impressive rookie campaigns helped as well.

I'll be enjoying the game, if for no other reason that I know by around mid-July to early August, I will be missing hockey. Last game to watch the Flames. Hope Coleman is in and gets his 30th, and Weegar gets his 20th. They have both been standouts this season and deserve to get those achievements.

The weird part is I think more cities would actually be impacted by the start of baseball season in April when every team still hypothetically has a "shot" compared to October where 80% of teams are out of it in baseball since really only 12 teams or so are even in the race by that time of the season.

I'll be there tonight.

Hoping this isn't the last trip to the Saddledome, but I said that in the preseason when the Flames hosted the Kraken.

Agreed. So much has been resolved this season it's been great. The last two years and off seasons have been intense.

This offseason is going to be incredibly dull though after the last two. We'll draft some futures at the end of June. We'll be relatively quiet in free agency, and there's no rush to trade anyone.

Markstrom might get moved, but it won't be a big storm beforehand like the last attempt. It'll just come about one day and we'll get a couple days of chatter about what we got in return.

It's calm seas and clear skies ahead finally, just have to finish rebuilding the ship.

If the Flames win they still finish below the Devils, right?

Correct. They either finish 8th last or 9th last.

Who answers their own questions lol.

Also, I agree there's no chance Wolf sees the AHL next season.
