China makes a major foreign policy statement by claiming all of the South China Sea as its territorial waters.

It sounds like the Phillipines, the US and China are confronting over territorial rights there.

The Liaoning is declared fit for combat, and China has assembled its first Carrier Strike group.

China intends on building 6 carriers.

The second carrier 001A is still undergoing sea trials.

Seems like the Chinese video producer watched the opening scene of Top Gun a few times.

That and - don't mess with this family:

Possibly, but come on, the VC is awarded "for gallantry "in the presence of the enemy" to members of the British armed forces"....you don't get much more in the presence than 30 v 1.

Oh don't get me wrong, I certainly think that this screams more a VC then anything else.

Its funny if you look at the last Gurka to win a VC it was 1965. The last VC awarded overall was in 2015 to Joshua Leakey.

China stealth UCAV "Dark Sword" is apparently under flight testing this week based on leaked photographs.

Interesting the Chinese appear to be cranking out newer designs at a much quicker iterative rate than I would have expected. They seem to be making progress with the Xian H-20 bomber as well. With the launch of the Type 001A carrier and the Type 002 EMALS conventional supercarrier already being built. The Chinese are making huge steps to catch up to the US militarily.

Moron says a bunch of stupid stuff, gets bounced from West Point

https://www.yahoo.com/news/army-spli...040612927.html

Quote:
WATERTOWN, N.Y. (AP) — The images Spenser Rapone posted on Twitter from his West Point graduation were intentionally shocking: In one, the cadet opens his dress uniform to expose a T-shirt with a blood-red image of socialist icon Che Guevara. In another, he raises his fist and flips his cap to reveal the message: "Communism will win."

Less than a year after Rapone's images drew a firestorm of vitriol and even death threats, the second lieutenant who became known as the "commie cadet" is officially out of the U.S. Army with an other-than-honorable discharge.

Top brass at Fort Drum accepted Rapone's resignation Monday after an earlier reprimand for "conduct unbecoming of an officer." Rapone said an investigation found he went online to advocate for a socialist revolution and disparage high-ranking officers. Officially, the Army said in a statement only that it conducted a full investigation and "appropriate action was taken."
An unrepentant Rapone summed up the fallout in yet another tweet Monday that showed him extending a middle finger at a sign at the entrance to Fort Drum, accompanied by the words, "One final salute."

"I consider myself a revolutionary socialist," the 26-year-old Rapone told The Associated Press. "I would encourage all soldiers who have a conscience to lay down their arms and join me and so many others who are willing to stop serving the agents of imperialism and join us in a revolutionary movement."

He's probably going to get sued over his free education.

Germany looks at replacing its aging Tornado's with um Tornado's that can carry nuclear bombs

https://www.defensenews.com/smr/nato...ce=twitter.com

Quote:
There are two problems with this solution. First, given what it would take to design, develop and test a nuclear-capable Typhoon, much less the six to eight years required for certification, it is too late to go with this option and meet the 2025 date for Tornado retirement.

Second, even it could be certified to carry the B-61, the Typhoon will not be able to perform the mission in the high-density, advanced air-defense environment that is already blanketing much of Europe. Delivery of a gravity bomb requires the ability to fly over a heavily defended target, and to do so on the first day of a war.

Virtually all senior air force leaders in NATO agree that fourth-generation fighters, including the Typhoon, are not survivable without an extensive and protracted campaign to roll back the air defense threat. Only a fifth generation platform such as the F-35 can beat today’s air defenses, much less those that will emerge over the next several decades.

The German inquiry regarding the acceptability to Washington of a nuclear-certified Typhoon is really motivated by industrial politics. Germany and France hope to begin development of a fifth-generation fighter ― a project that will take at least 15 years. But if Berlin acquires even a limited number of F-35s, this could undercut that objective. In fact, the head of Airbus recently gave an interview in which he declared that “as soon as Germany becomes an F-35 member nation, cooperation on all combat aircraft issues with France will die.”

Notes on the NATO Summits session today as Trump toes the hard line on spending

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-44799027

I really can't disagree with him on this as many of the NATO countries are showing historical low levels of readiness.

The German Military is in really bad shape.

https://www.dw.com/en/germanys-lack-...ner/a-42663215

Right now their submarine fleet is beached completely, their air force is pretty much broken, and their troops are suffering a shortage of winter personal kid.

UK's military strength is negligible, their navy is in particularly bad shape and their air force is badly outdated.

http://www.defencesynergia.co.uk/uk-...rate-are-we-2/

I don't really want to keep talking about Canada, I've covered it in the past, but now we have a Prime Minister that's outright stretched our capability to the limit.

BAE also put out a call for collaboration, so maybe some Canadian interest, as there are reports that Japan has notified of their interest to collaborate.

Haha. SDF captured the Daesh voice of the Flames of War videos. He is none other than Canadian Mohammed Abdullah Mohammed. Hopefully the SDF will turn him over to either the Syrian or Iraqi government.

I wouldn't be upset if they marched him behind a building and put a bullet in him. ISIS is an evil organization staffed with evil unredeemable people.
