I can’t wait to never type these guys name in a game thread. LOL

(By that I mean their names are hard, not that they won’t play for the Flames)

Seems like he’s thriving in a new environment, he’ll get a contract if he keeps it up

Feb 15.
Ruzicka picked up 2g early before the game got out of hand and Sudbury was blown out by SSM 10-4
Now up to 12g 8a +14 in 16gp with Sudbury
full season stats 51gp 23g 34a 57pts +4

Zavgorodniy picked up 2g 1a in a 7-4 win.
Seems to have picked it up in February with 5g 2a in 6 games played
55gp 25g 32a 57pts +30

Joly had 1g in the same game which brings his Rimouski totals to 6g 6a in 20 games

Roman has 1a after 1 period tonight
Roman is in a bit of a slump with only 2g 2a in his last 10 games
48gp 20g 21a +12

Milos Roman scored the winner on a power play and added three assists to lead the Vancouver Giants past the Kelowna Rockets 7-4 on Friday night in Western Hockey League action.

Difficult to see Joly take such a giant step backwards this year and for Zavgorodniy to pretty much hit a wall after the torrid pace he started the season on.

Late round picks are what they are, but these 2 have shown some pretty good hope at times over the past season or 2. Hopefully they can get back on track.

For a group of 4th round and later picks, Flames fans should be pretty happy with how these four CHL prospects are turning out. At the very least, non of these players are obvious 'busts'. I still think that it is a serious outside chance any of these players see even 1 NHL game.

Of the lot I would argue that Milos Roman is the best prospect. He is a point per game player in the WHL, and he apparently has is a responsible 2-way player who kills penalties. A player like that can fill a 4th line role nicely.

I’d be pretty surprised if Joly gets offered a contract so in that sense, you could consider it a failed pick.

I also wouldn’t be shocked if Ruzicka wasn’t signed.

Both guys lack the competitive fire to succeed.

This management team has been very selective about signing draft picks.

Roman and Z still have another year to impress.

Agreed. Although Ruzicka has a decent chance of getting signed just due to the shortage of prospects in the system.

I would be shocked if they didn't get signed. They need the bodies in the system. Unless the Flames are going to go full Darryl Sutter and have a minor league affiliate of nothing but career minor leaguers from other organizations, they need to bring in their own draft picks and keep the pipe full. I suspect the Flames will be signing a bunch of college free agents and undrafted players out of junior as well, just to keep the pipeline filled, even if it only has lower line potential. With these kids you never know. See what they have at the pro-level.

Hat trick for Ruzicka after 2 periods in a 4-2 game against the Hamilton Bulldogs

32 goals on the season, which is pretty good considering he went through a 19 game goalless drought.

With Sudbury he has 21g an 15a in 28 games.

Sudbury has 2 more games after this to wrap up the regular season.

upd: Ruzicka scored another goal in the 3rd for 4 goals tonight. Now up to 33 goals this season and 22g 15a in 28 games with sudbuy.
