I know xG isn't the best judge of a match, but Spurs xG for that match was 1.97 and Bayern's was 1.36. Which sounds like a very Spursy stat.

Well I successfully avoided the scores and everything all day. Poured myself a scotch and sat down to see that. Things started out well! Son was making runs in behind and we were dealing with Bayern reasonably well. Then it just fell apart, and sure they're were some nice finishes there for Bayern, but what a complete mess.
I would guess that Poch has until Liverpool and if that goes anything like this, it's over? Something's got to change there. A hard fought 4-2 or something would have been at least explainable today, but 7-2 that probably should have been with another penalty to Gnabry as well is beyond explanation. And IMO Aurier probably should have been sent off after he jumped on Coman at about the 9 minutes mark. Just a completely shambolic display.

From Molde, Haaland once again rejected interest from bigger clubs to sign for Salzburg, a club accustomed to winning the Austrian championship but also one with a track record for developing young talent, including Liverpool's Sadio Mane and Naby Keita.

Maybe he'll follow the pattern and wind up playing for Liverpool.

that'd be heartbreaking. I didn't really care when Mane went there because I already loathed him for striking his way to Southampton, which was as ####ty as you could imagine (they were preparing for CL quali games at the time). And Keita was at Leipzig, which is despised here.
I remember Haland being heavily linked to United before he decided to come here, which was a brilliant decision of course. Salzburg is one of the best addresses for top talents to improve and get ready for bigger clubs.

great learning experience for that young team. Hoped they wouldn't get battered, but this was always a realistic possibility.

Well there is one back with a really great goal. They've looked dangerous and full of fight all game, you can just tell the front 3 for Liverpool are in another level. Could be a tight game yet still.

Haaland is of course the big gun, but Minamino has been terrific today, causing all sorts of problems for Liverpool.
