Braves bullpen is such a dumpster fire. The front office has has zero interest in trying to fix it.

At this point Toussant will be the closer.

What exactly is keeping anyone from signing Kimbrel? Is he really being that unreasonable with his demands?

Teams finally learned a few years ago that paying pitchers big years after 30 is a mistake.

Supposedly Dallas Keuchel is hoping for a one year deal above his 17.9 QO or a multi year deal for less. Astros really don't seem to miss him.

Also looks like the Mariners have found their typical form with 6 straight losses.

Sitting here with my thumb up my ass eating some poutine! Nothing like not having to show up for work and keeping your job! Alex Anthopoulos on the state of his trash bullpen likely.

Whatever Christian Yellich is on the Flames need to pump that into Gaudreau's veins all summer. 2 more home runs tonight.

Calgary kid Mike Soroka pitched a gem tonight recording his first win of 2019. 5.2 IP, 1 ER, 7 Ks (tying his career high).

Baseball can have such quirky stats.

Quote:
Pablo Sandoval on Monday became the first major league player since 1905 to hit a home run, steal a base and post a scoreless outing in the same game.

Sandoval achieved the feat in the San Francisco Giants' 12-4 loss to the Cincinnati Reds on Monday.

The only other time the feat was achieved, it was also accomplished by a Giants player in a game against the Reds. Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson threw nine shutout innings, hit a homer and stole a base in a victory on May 23, 1905, according to the Elias Sports Bureau's data.

This is old news but...

my God, PNC Park is beautiful.

Watched the Rangers/Pirates game last night and have it on currently. Makes me want to go to Pittsburgh.

Good grief the Astros are good.

I hope they win the WS again this year. This is a team for the ages.

27-15. Best record in the majors. Impressive. But what really gets me is their run differential is already +76. That is nuts.

There is something remarkable going on in the early weeks of 2019. Here is a list of the best offenses in the past 100 years, ranked by the weighted runs created formula at FanGraphs (wRC+ adjusts for the league run environment and home park, with 100 being average):

2019 Astros: 133
1927 Yankees: 126
1930 Yankees: 124
2017 Astros: 122
1976 Reds: 120
1982 Brewers: 120
2003 Red Sox: 120

Sale strikes out 17 in 7 innings for the Red Sox. And then they lose.

Meanwhile Astros keep mashing and Michael Brantley at $2 million per looks to be quite a signing. Brad Treliving take note. It’s amazing how baseball GM’s seem more responsible in a league without a salary cap.

Is this Braves bullpen really about to blow a 12-0 lead?
