Oh yeah the Black Caps got screwed over big time.
Of course I am whinging. England winning the cup was the worst case scenario. Seeing them not actually win while having to listen to their fans and media go on about what great historic victory it was is annoying. You only won due to a few bad calls, the luckiest bounce in history, and an obscure tiebreaker.
This shows though how damn classy the Kiwis and their fans are and proves why they are everyone's 2nd favourite team. If the English had been screwed over that badly Jason Roy would have led the team in throwing a massive tantrum.

Global T20 Canada is going on at the moment in Toronto.
There are a few notable stars playing like Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Faf Du Plessis, Yuvraj Singh, Shahid Afridi.
All the matches are played in Toronto, even though Brampton, Montreal, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Toronto and Edmonton are represented.
Few matches have already been played and just wanted to say that even in cricket E=NG as they sit dead last in the tournament.

I really dont get the point of attaching cities to the teams, but yeah like you said there are some world class players in this tournament for some reason and that's pretty neat.

Yeah I don’t get the point of the Canada T20. It seems more like a vanity project than a legitimate attempt to grow the game in Canada.
It does give me a decent segue to The Ashes though with former Toronto National Steve Smith having a brilliant time at the crease on day 1 of the first test. He saved the Aussies from a disaster scoring 144 of their 284 runs in what is already being called one of the greatest Ashes performances ever.

Australia wins the first ashes test! What a comeback from 8-122 first innings to win by 251.
Steve Smith has padded his resume as the greatest modern test batsman picking up his first test double 100.

Amazing 3rd inning by NZ.
Were 25-3 with Williamson and Taylor gone. Gonna get close to 300 and probably win.

Steve Smith is in the history books again becoming the first ever test player to be replaced due to a concussion.
The 2nd Ashes test ended in a draw due to rain. The good news for Australia is they only need to win one of the remaining 3 tests to retain the Ashes. The bad news is Smith is out for at least the next test.

Not really. Fast bowlers will still bowl bouncers regardless of whats happened in the past and its up the batsmen to get out of way and try to play a shot.
After recent incidents no body is going to intentionally try to kill someone with a bouncer. Phil Hughes is still too fresh in everyones mind and yet theres still been players who've been knocked out but fortunately gained consciousness.

More rain. The Aussies are hoping it rains straight into September.

Yep keep the rain coming!
It is an interesting quirk of test cricket that if all else fails aiming for the body is a legitimate bowling strategy.
Archer has definitely been an X factor taking out Smith then picking up 6 wickets yesterday. The English are playing with fire though as Australia has more than just one fast bowler who can inflict pain. Will be interesting to see what happens when the English innings start.

Sheesh England bowled out for 67.
You'd think if 11 guys went up there and swung for the fences they'd get more than 67.

Now Warner is out for 0.
At this rate this test match might end today.

I got DAZN for NFL and EPL but been watching a few of the cricket test matches.
I am slowly becoming a fan.
I like that VAR reviews are done on the big screen and the video judge makes his decision through the stadium PA system.
Something the North American sports leagues should consider.

Wow what a glorious Friday night. It’s not often I can say I got home from work, ate dinner, put my daughter to bed, and then watched England get bowled out before my bed time. Well done Aussie fast bowlers!
Yeah the cricket DRS has its hiccups but I overall a solid system. I like the transparency and use of technology.

That was incredible. England gets like 80 on the final wicket to chase down 359.

What a test match in England.
Chasing 359 in the 4th inning, England wins by a wicket.
In the final overs with Australia needing 1 wicket to win the match and the Ashes, there were drop catches, missed run out, bad review, wrong umpire decision all led to Leach getting a single and letting Stokes hit a four to end the match.
Last 10 overs they scored 76 runs on the last wicket.
I'm not a huge fan of test cricket but cuz of matches like this it still has its place.
