Kind of surprised Florida gave up a 1st+ and didn’t try and get more term out of Sam. I suspect the ask was closer to 8 on a 6-8 year term. I still think Reinhart finds his way to the western conference before or after this deal is up

I very much like the term on this deal. He's easily worth 6 million, so it seems like a decent price considering the term is so short.

Glad to have him around for a bit. Looks like the Panthers are looking at a 3-ish year window before retooling.

For a guy who's counting numbers seem like they would be borderline in terms of making him a top line guy, my first impression is that this is pretty pricey. He's a better winger, than center, and he has one year where he got to 65 points.

This is where knowing his usage and overall effectiveness from advanced numbers would help. But for a tax free state, this seems like more than they should have paid for this player.

I actually really like everything about this deal. Reinhart is not really the type of player I'd want to go 8 years with or something. Good for the team and the player IMO.

I like the player too. But looking at their cap situation next year they have some heavy spending to complete with only 14 players signed, key amongst them is Barkov who will probably eat up much of their $17M left to spend.

But worry about that next year. Good signing of Reinhart.

Reinhart was on pace for 38 goals in 82 games last year. He also has a 65 point season 3 seasons ago and the last 2 season which were both shortened seasons had 69 games 59 point pace and 54 games and 61 point pace.

He a 25 goal 60 point man and has good advanced stats. His last 4 seasons he has missed 2 games so he also seems to be durable. Great deal for the Panthers but probably not long enough.

Bennett and Reinhart on this team is shaping up for FLA to contend for the East. Bob or Knight are the keys but they are as good as it gets

I just remember the days when the Devils were routinely forgotten about during the regular season and yet every year they were in the playoffs and ended up winning cups .
