Pardon My Take has really come around and become great, the chemistry Big Cat and PFT have is special.

The podcasts I listen to are generally ones you dont have to think to much So that would be Doug Loves Movies, Jay & Dan Podcast and Smodcast/HBO. Anyone have any recommendations in that area? That fancy page of all the best podcasts did not list of of these

Have you listened to the Strategists? Interesting to get a local take on National and US politics.

Do you listen to any of the Earwolf podcasts? Comedy Bang Bang and Never Not Funny are must listens to me.

Dougboys review chain restaurants, but mostly they insult each other.

The Best Show with Tom Scharpling is amazing. He started doing it as a radio show on WMFU, but now it's live-streamed on the internet and podcasted. He takes calls, and has great guests and characters. Jon Wurster (who plays drums in 3 bands so you wouldn't expect him to be a comedian too) calls in every show as a character from the fictional town of Newbridge, NJ. I love it, and the back catalogue is so deep.

This is probably the funniest thing I've ever heard. I relisten to it often.

We cover a wide range of topics that have to do with hockey. We are a sometimes a bit crude but we have fun. In addition to topics that us beer leaguers care about here are a few other notable episodes: We chatted Boom Boom Geoffrion's son on the show about old hockey stories & his adult tournaments. We talked with the marketing president of Pure Hockey about the evolution of hockey gear and online sales. We spoke with the director and producer of "Soul On Ice", a documentary about the contribution of black athletes to the sport of hockey.

I'm biased but I think if you play adult hockey ( or any sport) & dig the conversations and camaraderie that go along with the team you'll like our podcasts. For the love of everything don't let your kids listen to it with you.

Here's the summary of the last two episodes:

Episode 71: When a girl has to choose between her fiery hair and new Tacks, things can get a little desperate. April has her eye on some beauty CCM’s this week and we don’t wanna say she’s considering drastic measures but …. Meanwhile, Dani’s ranting about her summer team having to forfeit the final championship game. Nick tries to get serious talking about those magic moments when things were “meant to be” and no one’s surprised when things go off the rails.

Episode 66:
Summer hockey and more stripper talk The crew tackles such hard-hitting topics as ‘why we love wearing shorts to the rink’ and ‘why is everyone getting drunk instead of coming to hockey?’ Dani pulls out the Fireball to share a story from the Calgary Draft, despite April’s protests that what happens in the locker room should stay there. Nick gets even more excited for our upcoming trip to Montreal after he hears a fan’s cringe-inducing story from a visit to the French Canadian city. Spoiler alter: there's strippers.

- Also
Ps if any of you would like to be a on the show I'd gladly welcome CP'ers. I've told the story, on the Podcast, of CP sending down tons of gear to Oklahoma to help my teammates get started when I decided to get into hockey. As a matter of fact I told that same story when I was on the fan960 live w/ Steinberg & Wills one day.

Oh man. If you need an expert to give you recommendations on the best podcasts where some white dudes talk to their white friends about nothing, I am your man.

Already mentioned is Never Not Funny, The Best Show, and Comedy Bang Bang.

In the same vein, I also like;

-Stop Podcasting Yourself.
-Our Debut Album - Dave and Graham from Stop Podcasting Yourself try and write a hit album 1 song at a time one song a month.

Although the next few have subjects that they follow they are mostly about nonsense and you don't need to be a fan of any of the subjects.
-U Talking U2 2 Me - Scott Auckerman and Adam Scott talk about U2.
-Talk Salad and Scrambled Eggs (Frasier Reconsidered) - Kevin Smith and Matt Mira talk about Frasier.
-Analyze Phish - Harris Whittles tries to convince Scott Auckerman that Phish is a good band.
-James Bonding - Matt Gourley and Matt Mira talk about James Bond
-It's That Episode - Craig Rowin invites a friend to his apartment to watch an episode of TV and then they talk about it.
-Totally Beverages - Andy an Josh talk about beverages and sometimes hot sauce.

Most of the podcasts I listen to are sports based, I already mentioned Pardon My Take. Enjoy the podcasts that The Ringer puts out, they have a dedicated podcast for the NFL, MLB, and the NBA. They also have a golf podcast "Shackhouse" which is really enjoyable. The Garbage Time podcast with Katie Nolan is a lot of fun. The Jonah Keri podcast is good, he gets some great interviews. Also love The Section 10 Podcast, although that probably won't appeal to many as that's a Redsox podcast.

I'd also add The Scathing Atheist to that list, as well as Common Sense with Dan Carlin.

Here are some of my favourites out of the 20 or so I listen to:

Planet Money (NPR) - theoretically topics are about economics, but they are pretty wide ranging. Roughly 20 minutes per episode.
Under the Influence from CBC Radio - anecdotes about marketing, roughly 30 minutes
Gastropod - history of various foods, around 45 minutes per episode
Common Sense with Dan Carlin - US politics, roughly an hour per episode
99% Invisible - theoretically topics are about design, but they are pretty wide ranging, around 20 minutes
Hello Internet - two YouTube video makers (CGP Grey & Brady Haran) talk about random stuff, much more interesting than it sounds. Episodes are generally 90-120 minutes.
More or Less: Behind the Stats - A BBC podcast investigating the truth behind statistics reported in the media, full episodes are 30 minutes, the "World" version podcasts are 10 minutes.

A few I've recently found and binged on:

Criminal: essentially about crime, but ranging from weird minor crimes to big stuff, historical crime stories, and white collar crime.

Embedded (NPR): takes stories from the news that you might not give much thought to and investigates them in detail.

Reply All: interesting stories from the internet.

Basically you guys have covered what I listen too.

Fantasy Footballers
Pardon my take

I like Keeping Karlsson. It's brought to you by dobber hockey so it has good insight for hockey pools.

Also another show I enjoy, this might be an acquired taste but it has become pretty popular. It's called Real Good Show.

Quote:
Real Good Show is a Vancouver-based sports-talk comedy podcast more concerned with telling jokes than breaking news. John Cullen, Stefan Heck and Justin Morissette try (and often fail) to talk about what's new in the wild world of sport, with new episodes every week (or so). Like hockey? You're gonna love us. Hate sports? You'll still have fun.

All CJSW shows are now available as podcasts on iTunes, or archived at cjsw.com.

If you like indie rock/pop like me I recommend The Spin Evolution, Primary Colours, Double Entendre Preserves, The Royal We, Saved By The Bell.
