Just sitting in the lower bowl to watch warmups and I noticed that the Travelling Jagrs are now officially rocking the jersey that Jagr gave during that interview lol.

Yep, that's why even with his potential I don't really believe Ferland will ever be a top six guy. He's got lots of skill and size, but never seems to be able to work hard and play his game consistently.
That doesn't mean he's a bust for providing value to the Flames. It just means he'll likely be a bottom six guy who will catch teams off guard and then once and awhile will show greatness in a top six role when injury occurs, because he'll take the short opportunities seriously.
Also has the ability to be a huge factor in the playoffs.

That's why it will be interesting to see what Lazar brings tonight. He must realize the door's open a crack for that 1st line RW spot - but he has to get himself noticed.

I can almost guarantee he's part of a goal tonight. He's going to be fired up playing his old team and gets to play with our top line. Gaudreau will likely be excited at the change as well.
Wouldn't be surprised if that line plays great and stays together past tonight.
Unfortunately Ferland got the top line RW because there was a lack of a better option. He did well in spurts with his opportunity but now the time to see who else can step up. Worst case scenario, Ferland ends up back on The top line RW.
I've been saying for a couple of years now that while Ferland has all the skill, he gaps out in the worst way and plays goober hockey. Treliving mentioned it constantly this offseason. Consistency is a big problem and he needs to step up and beat that demon.
Rick Ball and Cassie Campbell decided to do pre-game commentary over the line-up announcement. Sportsnet's lack of situational awareness has no limits.
