Click File, Open then direct it to the CPHL1-PRE.stc

This SIM is trying to open the other file but the preseason file is the newer one and needs to be loaded to open. Once the regular season starts you will need to once again load the other file without the PRE

yep...I know how to do that...the file isnt even the pre season file for some reason? Ill try deleting history and such..
