Default Facebook Picture Question

Just a question about picture quality...

When a picture is uploaded to facebook is it the same quality that the original picture has or is it compressed?

Thanks in advance

EDIT: Ya that's what i figured... Easy enough... Thanks

Not only compressed with a lossy algorithm, but resized as well.
