Oilers are carrying 17 forwards and 9 D on their NHL roster + Taxi squad.

Most of what I would consider their better prospects are playing in Europe or NCAA.

The only real prospects in Bake are Benson, Mcleod and the two goalies and they all have limited upside IMO.

No point in having them in Edmonton as there isn't much chance at all of a recall being actually needed to play?

My other guess would be maybe as Bakersfield had mid pack attendance last season the Oilers want to keep the meth addled fans in Bakersfield onboard. Stockton had the lowest attendance in the AHL last season so perhaps there is no incentive to appease the fans there.

I don't think it was. It was a turnover by Zary into the slot and a quick shot with 2 players screening in front. No chance for Wolf IMO.

I think a lot of people's expectations for Dustin Wolf have been pretty unrealistic. The level-up from Canadian Juniour to the AHL is huge, and he is also still compensating for being an under-sized goalie. He may turn out one day, but that is a few years down the road yet.

Yeah.... I'm just being semi-facetious, given the current mood around here.

Well, the Heat look like hot garbage. Which seems about right.

I feel like they aren't bad, definitely forecheck and play with more pace than the top club. Wolf needs to make a save .

It is his first ever professional game, so this is definitely to be expected. But I think this helps to illustrate just what a spectacular prospect Tyler Parsons was, and why it is so frustrating that his mental health and injury history have unfortunately set him back.

The Calgary Flames organization has been outscored 11-1 in their last 4.5 periods between their NHL and AHL teams

I just noticed that the Marlies and every other team in the Canadian Division have played four games already. This is Stockton's first game since 10 March, 2020.

That last goal against Wolf deflected in off Hamilton's knee. Still, not a great night—five GA on 11 shots.

Highlights of all five goals:

I think the great Flames legend Mike Vernon let in 4 goals in his first pro game...

They call it the development league for a reason.

@DarrenWHaynes

Nightmare first pro start for Dustin Wolf ends at 11:50 of the second period. He leaves after giving up five goals on 11 shots. Replaced by Garret Sparks. It looked like Wolf's first regular season start in 350 days, for sure, but victim of some bad-luck redirections also.
