Was down for the WSOP ME. It was 42-45 the whole time. Bearable. Surprising number of people walking around on the strip. Had to go outside once in a while to warm up, it was so cold with the A/C. +30 in Toronto or Ottawa is way worse than 45 in LV.

Yeah 110 in Vegas is kinda bad, but 90 in Miami is significantly worse. Humidity makes that much of a difference.

Heading to Vegas for work for pretty much all of September and October. #1 question at the moment is has anyone seen the Elton John show at Caesars and if so what are your thoughts on seating and how good the show is for the $$

I've seen Sir Elton at Caesar's on two different occasions. Both times were excellent. Don't go overboard on tickets. Not a bad seat in the house. I sat in rear orchestra both times and wasn't disappointed. Tickets in that area run around 125US. Definitely worth it. Have a blast!!

Going to Vegas in mid October.
I always like to check out live music. While I'm there: Bob Dylan, Elton John, Billy Idol, Andrew WK, Prophets of Rage, Purple Reign, Tower of Power, Jethro Tull, Los Tigres del Norte
Anyone been to these venues?
The Griffin
Beauty Bar
Bunkhouse Saloon
Double Down Saloon
The Joint
The House of Blues
Oddfellows
Velveteen Rabbit
Downtown’s indie dance scene flourishes with new venues and fresh energy

East Fremont houses the Double Down Saloon – an institution that became training grounds to some of the most popular Indie bands today such as The Briefs, Riverboat Gamblers, and The Black Diamond Riders.
There’s also the Beauty Bar, which has showcased the likes of The Hold Steady and the Walkmen. It also helped break Green Day and Imagine Dragons back in the day. It allows new DJs with to perform, luring in a different crowd ever Friday night.
Las Vegas is quickly becoming a hub for indie fans. While it is still overwhelmed with mainstream influences, which isn’t particularly bad, the city seems to be integrating more options for music.
To find out more about Las Vegas’ indie scene, check out Indie Krush – a collective of underground and independent musicians, bands, DJs, and party-goers, who are always at the forefront of the underground arts movement in the city.

When are you heading, trout? I'll be there from the 10th - 13th. Going to see Billy Idol on the 12th. Double Down Saloon is an absolute must if you're a fan of dive bars.

Anyone ever stay at the Jockey Club? Im looking for a 2 bedroom that sleeps 4-5 people, with kitchen (save money on food/drinks). The location looks pretty central, between the Cosmo and Bellagio. And the price is great too.

If you have the time you can so see the time share presentations they last about half a day or so. But they're free tickets. Or another way we did was play myvegas (game) and got a 2 for 1 coupon. We also had resort credit, so we ended up getting those for free as well.

I saw Guns N Roses in The joint. Nice venue. I was on the second level. It's where they hold TUF finals sometimes.

The biggest piece of trash hotel on the strip. That's all I can say.

^ the pictures on the net of the jockey club make the place look ok; however, given it's location and if the price is "great" relative to the nearby places, that is likely giving you a hint.

Don't look at the hotels website photos. Look them up on TripAdvisor.
Rooms look old, but not in terrible condition. Hell even Jockey Clubs website looks old as balls!

What's some good 'boys events' in Vegas (aside from the peelers)?
I've heard of:
- shooting guns
- driving exotic cars
- excavator/heavy equipment courses
Anything else that could be a really fun afternoon with 10 guys?

Golf? Pretty sure there's a couple courses where you can get a female "caddie" who probably doesn't know #### about golf but that's not why she's there.
