Yeah it sure looks like Zayne is quickly outgrowing junior hockey.
He needs a big off season to put on some strength and get ready to battle for a spot on the Flames roster next season.

Yeah I would be pissed if he went back to OHL again. What is going to do? Get ANOTHER 30 goal season and break all the records again? Yay?

It's ridiculous his only options next year are OHL or NHL...the NHL, CHL, and AHL really need to revist that rule, especially with players allowed to go to the NCAA now. 19 year olds should be eligible for the AHL.

It's also ridiculous that somehow Canada convinced themselves they didn't need him.

Feb.13th:
Misa gets 1a, was -1, and goes 9/16 in faceoffs in a 4-2 loss to North Bay. He is 14th in scoring, and 12th in plus/minus, with 51gp/31g/38a/69pts,+33, 2 PIM.
Moncton defeats Shawinigan, 5-4 in a SO. Morin gets 1g, and was +3. He is tied for 12th-overall in plus/minus, and is 4th in scoring by D, with 48gp/11g/33a/44pts,+26, 26 PIM.
Gridin gets 1g, and was even in that contest. He is tied for 12th in plus/minus, and is 10th in scoring, with 47gp/28g/34a/62pts,+26, 27 PIM.

I think Parekh is going to shock some people come camp next year.
He's ready for 3rd pairing sheltered minutes with adequate PP QB time.
No different than Makar, Hughes, Fox etc in their first seasons.
I'll add that I think his skating looks weird because he stands pretty upright compared to most, and his stride is so efficient it almost looks like a glide at times. His lateral movement is next level, he just needs to work on that elusiveness that both Makar and Hughes have with the puck.

If so, that right side of the D corps is going to be crowded very soon.

Underrated fact about Luke Misa that gets overlooked often, of his 69 points, 59 are even strength. That is second (edit: miscounted, its 3rd highest) in the OHL and highest in per60 (quoted from Twitter, I will try to find the link) in the entire league.
He is very likely going to beat his previous season totals on even strength points alone.
That is a hell of a progression for a young centerman and I believe bodes well for his future in the NHL.
For Zayne, of his 27 goals, 19 are at even strength. Significantly higher than any other defenseman in the league. (almost double the next highest Dman in the OHL).

Scoring Winger

^ the other thing about Misa (though this is overlooked less) is that his main flaw other than size was the fact that he wasn't a particularly strong goal scorer. He's on pace for 41 goals this year, so clearly he's made progress in that regard. His sh% is a tad high, though.
Another thing I just noticed: apparently he's only taken one penalty this year.

I'd love to see Misa in the AHL next year. If Kerins graduates to the NHL, there would be an opportunity for Misa to start as the second line C for the Wranglers.

Did you do the calculation yourself with the OHL numbers or is there a site that actually has those numbers readily available?

Myself, so take them with that grain of salt! Haha. The per/60 for Misa I got off of twitter. One of the prospecting accounts.

Feb.14th:
Battaglia gets 1g, and was even, in a 4-2 victory at Kitchener's expense. He is 13th in scoring, with 52gp/32g/41a/73pts,+11, 26 PIM.
Mews is held pointless, and -2 in a 3-2 win over Flint. He is tied for 16th-overall in scoring, and is 2nd in scoring by D, with 52gp/13g/55a/68pts,-8, 66 PIM.
Parekh is all zeroes in a 3-2 OT victory over Windsor. He is tied for 10th-overall in scoring,15th-overall in plus/minus, and is 1st in scoring by D, with 47gp/26g/48a/74pts,+28, 67 PIM.
No points, and -1 for Gridin in a 5-2 loss to the Titan. He is 10th in scoring, and tied for 16th in plus/minus, with 48gp/28g/34a/62pts,+25, 27 PIM.
Hitmen fall to the Blades, 6-3. Laing gets no points, and was +1. 49gp/15g/16a/31pts,+13, 31 PIM.
Hurtig was held pointless in that game, with a +1. He is tied with Jamieson for 14th in plus/minus, with 44gp/4g/9a/13pts,+33, 25 PIM.
No points for Lipinski, -1, and 11/17 on faceoffs in a 5-2 loss to Victoria. 43gp/10g/31a/41pts,-5, 30 PIM.

Ho hum. Another three primary points for Gridin today on the first two periods. Rookie in that league and leading rookie scoring by a significant margin. Kid is looking very good.
