I actually hate what Peters is doing with his lines. No consistency, just slamming crap together and looking for instant success. The lack of results speak for themselves.
Want to give Bennett a try? Then do it and don’t be so damn reactionary
Mangiapane? Then do it!
Stop flip flopping every 6 shifts.
We don’t have anyone good enough to play in that spot, so either spend time developing a player into it or Tree better make a move fast, because this is ugly.

That would be true except we knew they tried to improve
That doesn’t equate to hanging on ones laurels

Tampa is a pretty great answer to your question though.
They got embarrassed to an historic degree last season. First President's Trophy team to get swept in the 1st round.
Added McBackup and Maroon, then the recently bought out Shattenkirk.

And outside of that clear outlier where everything went wrong they've consistently been one of the best teams in the league for a while.

Agreed to a point, but part of the issue is we’ve been penalized so much and so early we’ve had no chance to run/test lines for very long. Bennett one of the worst offenders in this case.
With that being said you’re right we can’t expect much of people get bumped up and down non stop and sat for long stretches of time.

How many of those annoying cheerleaders will be at the stop club later? Just wondering.

I will say, as weak as the Flames have looked, 2 innocent shots that AHl goalies don’t let in and it’s still a 1 goal game. That’s why the cliched analysis that Cassie trots out abut Vegas clogging up the zone, and can’t blame the goalie, rings pretty hollow imo. Both 4th and 5th goal are deflating to a team that’s admittiedly fighting it and the attitude changes for the team as opposed to being down by 1.

Honestly, put Bennett and Mangiapane as the two two RW, and Lindholm as the second line centre. Let the rest of the team fall into place. Don't change lines at all for the entire game.
I bet it would pay off.
Peters is a little irritating at times.

Also 5 of the last 6 with 2 conference finals and a Stanley Cup final in there, but keep cherry picking.

One of the head coach’s biggest responsibilities is obviously bench management.
Deciding early who is ready and prepared to do what it takes to win is the biggest function of that.
It is each player’s responsibility to be emotionally, mentally and physically prepared.
A lot of no shows tonight.
