I think it would help if you added some commentary yourself rather than just drop party propaganda in here.

The wrong assumption was made that I would be posting UCP propaganda for the next 8 moths. I certainly didn't do it to be a mouth piece for the party. I found some items I thought would be interesting for discussion.

As for commentary, I appreciate your suggestion and will do that in the future

Well you've done it for the past 2 days, so it seemed a reasonable question to ask.

Good idea, and we can start specific media outlets to cater to specific sides of a particular debate. The less we share ideas the better I always said.

Just a note - political parties are exempt from the anti-spam laws. So unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about phone calls, texts etc from them.

Dion, if you re-post from partisan sources (which includes the Fraser Institue, CTF, CFIB, CCC, etc.), without comment, then their positions become your positions, and more importantly, their tone becomes your tone.

Yet you failed to actually discuss anything when posting it. Therein lies the confusion.

Upon reflection and some excellent pointers via PM, you and others in this thread raise some good points that I will try to follow in the future.

My apologies to all for getting so defensive

Only the best people.

Jesus this party isn't even power yet and there's resignations over corruption.

The Motor Dealers Association of Alberta also wrote a letter pledging $100,000 to Shaping Alberta’s Future, a PAC (political action committee) with the sole declared purpose of getting Kenney elected, and said it hopes to raise $1 million for the cause before the next election.

The letter states Kenney’s UCP government would address the association’s concerns, including scrapping the provincial carbon tax, rolling back corporate taxes, freezing minimum wages and cancelling recent labour code legislation.
I wonder how the employees feel about their employers making contributions to a party who’s main platforms include repealing their rights.

I know that I’m going to regret asking, but what rights are we talking about here? Like which were recently implemented and would be repealed?

It’s an honest question, but I am a bit biased. Workers rights in Alberta have been pretty good for decades, haven’t they?

I particularly look forward to them justifying why they feel they needed to cancel changes to job protection for:

Unpaid leave for the death or disappearance of a child. (52 weeks)
Unpaid leave for dealing with domestic abuse (10 days)
Unpaid leave for long-term illness (16 weeks, medical proof required)
Unpaid leave for caring for child with a critical illness (36 weeks)
Unpaid leave for death of an immediate family member (3 days)

In the letter to the MDA it specifically mentions repealing the recent changes to the labour code, OH&S and WCB.

You can read up on the changes that have been implemented here:

I’m not sure what you’re basing this on, Alberta had the weakest labour laws in the country for decades before the NDP updated the code.

Well most members of the Motor Dealers of Alberta don't consider workers rights much of a priority.

You've never worked with people that have 12 grandfathers and one seems to die every time a new shift supervisor is hired? Or have a family situation when they are out of vacation days but that wicked concert in Vegas is a must see?
