I'm listening to the game on the radio and I got goose bumps. Not even a Bronco fan lol.

One more post, so bitter sweet. Color commentator mentioning how tough an out my Hurricanes were. A couple bounces in game 1 and 2 and we could have swept these guys. Ah well. Congrats Broncos!

I see the Oilers signed Stuart Skinner to an ELC today.

Thought it was fitting that the Swift Current Broncos won the WHL this year given the Humboldt bus crash (Swift Current supplied the team with jerseys back in the day and the rest was history with the name)

So I wanted to see who won the SJHL in 1986 the year of the Swift Current crash and, well.. Chills...

The Pat's upset the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-2 tonight to kick off the MMC. Some were considering Hamilton to be the Favourites.

SC plays Acadie-Bathurst tomorrow afternoon.

Lots of talk about ticket prices, but one look at the stands will tell you that the it is too damn high. Tickets shouldn’t be more than $40 for junior hockey.

Jesse Gabrielle has unofficially been released from the Pats, yeah he has a foot injury and thats what the public has been hearing. There's way more to it than the foot injury. Real shame as the kid has talent.

2 shorthanded goals for the Titan. Tied at 3 in the 3rd.

Looks like Steenbergen has been shut down for the game after an awkward hit into the boards

Stuart Skinner reaches back and just saves the puck from crossing the line with 17.1 seconds left. Now headed to some free hockey.

Wow, from the boxscore looks like the Bulldogs are outshooting SC 16-1 10 minutes into the 1st. 1-0 for Hamilton

Shots 23-4 now. Skinner is the reason it's not 4-0.

Tied 1-1 end of the 2nd. Looks like they are pretty lucky to be tied. Shots 37-15 now.

They pulled that crap on the Hurricanes too haha. Manny was smart to acquire the services of one Stuart Skinner.

The WHL champs have lost eight straight round-robin games at the Memorial Cup and nine straight games if you include the 2015 championship game.

Maybe it's me, but this does not seem ideal.

Looks like a one off between Regina and Swift Current to make it out of the round robin.

Regina has no business being there... I don't even know how they got to host with one good season in the last 35 years.

I wish the CHL could do away with the host team thing somehow without ruining the tournament or at least filter through the potential hosts on merit, it would be a real shame if an 87 point team knocked out in the first round of the playoffs gets close to winning.

Never gonna happen, this tournament needs to sell tickets and that just won't happen without the host team there. They got lucky having Swift there to help sell tickets and attendance is pretty good.

Regina was a pretty good team in the best division in the W. They took Swift to 7 games and aren't embarrassing themselves in the tournament.

I wish people would stop complaining about the format. It's been this way for a long time and it works just fine. They consider the teams potential in the bid process, and hosts teams always go for it anyway.

I agree that a host team helps with selling tickets, but I think teams should have to earn the right to host. Regular season champ hosts, previous year's playoff champs host, etc, etc. Regardless of if they are American or Canadian. Or at least pick a host on a shorter timeframe so you don't end up with teams like the Pats and the Blades hosting. Even the Rebs were not a great team when they got their free pass.

Regina was awarded the right to host with a terrible track record on ice, they don't deserve to be there this year. The only reason they are competitive is because they have been off for a month and a half while the other teams have been beat up getting here. Last year was their first decent year in forever. The league needs to stop rewarding teams that don't perform on ice.... the last few WHL hosts have been brutal picks. It's like they are using it as a cookie to owners to make them some money instead of worrying about who deserves it. The powerhouse teams that are fairly consistently good for 5-10 year stretches never seem to host.
