Default Hartley "could face up to a 4-year suspension" for obstructing doping investigation

https://twitter.com/user/status/1122197219799646208

Hartley coached the KHL's Avangard Omsk this year and has coached the Latvian national team since late 2016. It's unclear if he will be able to lead Latvia at the World Championships next month

Impeding a doping test in Russia.

So what's he accused of, making a player play clean?

What does one have to do to be charged with that in Russia?

Hartley didn’t want his team to be the only team not doping - in Soviet Russia, dope does you!

Anything Russian needs a big grain of salt. He may not have played ball with league or gov’t officials. Next time leave the envelope on their desk and walk away Bob.

I'm aware, but dismissing the possibility of him covering up his players using PED's because he helped someone with an alcohol dependency is kind of silly.

Worth reading the replies to the first Tweet with more information from the same account:

Quote:
“Avangard” in a statement have called it “a blatant lie” stating that team doctor and Hartley never permitted RUSADA from running any tests. While there are claims that the player snuck away so that he wouldn’t have to be tested.

Hartley is now with team Latvia preparing for the World Championships. It’s unclear if he’ll be able to lead the team in Slovakia.

KHL, Russian Hockey Federation as well as IIHF and other parties have been notified about the situation. Avangard has also submitted a letter to league stating that team has always complied with any doping procedures and it’s all probably “just an misunderstanding”.

Hartley will continue his duties at all capacities until a complaint is officially filled.

It's funny reading a lot of these comments about RUSADA having followed the farce that is USADA in the UFC over the last several years.
