So, there's still hockey games ongoing!
Blues already up 1-0 in less than a minute. Jets challenged goaltender interference and lost.
I don't know if the NHL has tweaked how they've done coaches challenges to make the calls on the ice stand more often now, but I kinda like if it's that the case to discourage the overuse of it. It's at the point that pretty much every goal is questioned, and kills the flow of the game.

If they are going to be "tweaking" any rules, they should wait until next season to do so. Pretty bush league to change the rules from regular season to the playoffs.

Make the rules black and white as much as possible. They are highly subjective and loaded with all sorts of situation perms and combs

The NHL is built on the tradition of changing the rules from the regular season to the playoffs. Heck, the rules regularly change from the 1st period to the 3rd period, and also as the score changes during a game.

Elimination game and wpg, down 3-0 in the third with 7min left (just before they got a goal) had 12 shots in the game at that point.
Big and strong might not be everything either....

I wouldn't call St. Louis small either.

All the other teams with home ice advantage are now eliminated or at the brink of elimination, except the Capitals.
Lightning - Eliminated
Penguins - Eliminated
Bruins - Trailing 3-2
Flames - Eliminated
Jets - Eliminated
Predators - Trailing 3-2
Sharks - Trailing 3-2
Crazy playoffs so far

Islanders were a higher seed than the pens, but yes the point still stands. I think the last time the top four seeds in the west dropped was 2006 when the 8th seed oilers went to the finals.

Good point on the Islanders. It just felt like Penguins were the favourites personally.
Flames are out, which truly sucks. But these type of playoff upsets do help the sport and also puts the focus back on "parity". If Columbus or the Stars can make some noise, it shows teams that making changes or additions on trade deadline day can be beneficial.

From a fan's perspective, it also kills the enjoyment of the game. Whenever the Flames score a goal, I'm always hesitant to get too excited because it seems like it's gonna get challenged at least 65% of the time. And then you're just praying that the call goes your team's way, as the outcome of the review is basically a 50/50 coin flip.
