Great shot by Hanifin! 2-3 now.

2-4 Russia directly after.

You are right, of course, but I think Patrick Kane's domination in a number of playoffs, including when he was instrumental in helping the Hawks win 3 Stanley Cups, gives him more of a mulligan for one bad game.

Damn the Swiss deserved that win. Hope they can pull it off in OT now, but momentum is Canada's.

I missed it but does anybody know what injury Derek Ryan had that kept him from playing today?

He collided with a Canadian player in the previous game and the commentators noted that his mouth was bleeding. Could be head/jaw related?

Canada out shot them 42-24, not sure why the Swiss deserved to win, other than the fact Canada tied it late.

The Swiss rode 2 PP goals and great goaltending, but Canada was by far the better team.

More about them being huge underdogs and fought heroically all game and had the game won until 0.4 seconds left.

The Swiss did not deserve the win. In fact It must be fraustrating that the Swiss lost to the worst Canadian team in memory, maybe the 100th best Canadian team that could possibly be put together. There is one player on the team who would be in Canada’s top 20; Mark Stone. In fact I have not even heard of most of Canada’s players. Who are McCann and Severson?
How does Nurse make the team?

Great win by the lads despite the talent deficit and a bit of good news while our country is in such a state of disarray.

It's a young team, not an untalented team. By far the youngest in the tournament in fact. Still the Swiss have 3-5 players that would make this young Canadian squad.

Short tournaments.

It doesnt matter, great goaltending can take you a long way.

[QUOTE=Flamenspiel;7118095] Who are McCann and Severson?[QUOTE]

The fact that you've never heard of 2 players who have a combined 600 games means maybe the problem isn't with whose on the team.

Gods this game Finland-Sweden game. "Worst team ever" comes back from a two goal deficit against a Swedish team filled with NHL players and has completely dominated the game the last ten minutes of second period... And then Sweden gets one good shot that hits a defender and goes in. Sheesh.

Which wasn't half as ridiculous as the double bounce Sweden scored with earlier.

3-4 to end the period.

However this ends, got to say I still love watching Jukka Jalonens teams play. That work ethic and team play is just a pleasure to watch.

Edit: the last goal didn't hit a defender, saw it wrong the first time.

This Swedish team has looked lost all tournament, including Lindholm who is as invisible as the last few months of the NHL season. Impressed by the no name Finnish team though.
