Monahan flat out sucks. Is he injured? Probably. Don’t really care. Get him out of the lineup until the playoff start. Johnny isn’t playing great, but Monahan just kills every offensive zone possession. He lost 4 face offs in a row to end that game. Why is Lindholm not taking that draw

Flames allowing lesser teams to box them out and shut down the middle of the ice.
Figure it out.

Probably good they got the full two points to help lessen the odds we face them round one.

And the PK was fantastic. Two really bad PPs for the Stars, and yet 2 goals.
The Stars are confident when playing the Flames. Every team has teams that they own and teams that own them

We are one game above .500 when playing playoff teams. That is a very concerning stat.

Well I don't think the Flames are going to be playing the Stars. So that's a plus

It would be really weird if he was injured and they handled him this way.
Demote to the third line but then also have him out there taking draws when the game is on the line?
I think he is just playing poorly. He definitely LOOKS injured though.

I mean, the top line has been playing like garbage for like 2 months now (obviously a few games as exceptions, like Gaudreau's 6 point game). They're running out of time.

Yep BT should have went after a Centre trade deadline day. Monahan is useless.

Monahan isn't just snake bitten, he is bad.
I cant pick out a single thing he has done well in the last few games.
Not a single faceoff win in the last minute, bad passes, blatant turnovers... I'd swap him for Hathaway at this point

Valiant effort at the end. Too bad they didn't storm the net like that in the first two periods, or this game likely has a much different ending. Similar to the Kings game, I liked their effort for much of this game, especially early on. They just couldn't put the damn puck in the net.
Whatever funk their offence is currently experiencing, they just need to play themselves out of it. Better now than in the playoffs.

He can’t shoot and is having trouble bringing the puck to his forehand. If I was a betting man he has a wrist injury that requires surgery but won’t get any worse by playing through it until the season is over.

What a awful game to watch entertainment wise. 4 straight faceoff losses to end the game there, that’s definitely gonna piss Bill Peters right off. Weird and lucky goals by the Stars beat the Flames today. No way they could score those again if they tried.
Silver lining is the Flames likely don’t have to play the Stars with their win as they look almost uncatchable based on their strength of schedule and advantage on the tie break.
