This is why it’s never a bad idea to pick a small scoring forward. They’re always overlooked but plenty have panned out.
Flames have Gaudreau, Czarnik and Mangiapane with a bunch of other guys who aren’t considered big and don’t get thrown around.
It’s about speed these days

We all thought we deserved butter after seeing his progression. We're all used to seeing our late round picks, and our picks in general, go a rye. It was frustrating seeing us bow out early year after year. The mentality was almost ingrained in us. My love for the team was getting pretty stale. But things are different now, aren't they? I don't blame people for being sour, dough our drafting has been pretty good since Tre took over. I hope he's turned the corner, since we definitely knead players like him to rise to the occasion if we're going to make toast of our opponents. It does seem like the 4th line has more jam now.
Sorry, I don't know how many more awful puns I can stuff into this half-baked post.

I wrote this kid off after seeing him miss numerous chances to score last year and for the first half of this year...glad I write on a forum complaining rather than being an NHL GM. Mangi has been excellent lately, its awesome to see. Mangi, Doc and Hathaway have some great chemistry.

I think our 4th line is better than our 3rd.
Originally I thought Ryan and Hathaway's chemistry was what made that line tic but now I think Mangiapane is the key factor and all 3 are a good fit for one another.
If we can get our 3rd line rolling we are going to be quite deadly to match up against.

I definitely think Peters should consider putting Neal with Ryan now that Ryan is rolling. Jankowski has played with Hathaway and Mangipane before so chemistry is there as well.

It's probably time to stop referring to them as the 4th line.

IMO Mangiapane is not all that small at 5' 10", 184 lbs., in comparison to many great forwards now and in the past.
Considering his high scoring ability in his early years, recent minor professional experience, and recent performance on the 4th line, I don't think it's saying too much to consider him top 6 or 9 potential for the Flames going forward.

When Mangiapane takes a penalty:
The possibilities are endless, really.

Let's face it, if you switch Reider with Mangiapane they would be in the playoffs and we wouldn't be.

Happy to be dining on some of that sweet delicious crow.

Well, that is how he looked on his first call-up, but we subsequently learned that he was playing hurt because he didn't want to be sent down. Definitely more poised and confident now, but it doesn't hurt that he's also healthy this time.

Wills tried to name it the Ryan Express the other night, but I don't like any nickname that downplays the other two players.
