jeez, he wasn't that old at 52. Very sad, especially since he'd done decently in the years after 90210, and right after the announcement of it coming back.
RIP

Almost forgot - Luke Perry was the father of Jungle Boy, who recently signed with AEW and was one of the emerging talents on the professional wrestling indy scene.
This makes me so sad. I watched 90210 religiously as a kid, Dylan McKay was always my favorite.

I saw that in one of the articles and I had no idea. His dad showed up at events to support him.

I hated him on 90210, because I hated Dylan. I was all about Brandon, but once the show was over, he won me over. He was hilarious on Family Guy and I really liked him in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Way too young.

Brandon really had the semi lame problems, a couple of DUI's and a girl that accussed him of sexual assault. Meanwhile Dylan is sitting up on the hill in his car chasing the dragon.
I was never a big 90210 fan even though Jennie Garth was just hot. But Luke Perry was actually perfectly cast in that role.
RIP Dylan.

Luke Perry made Dylan McKay so layered. Yes, bad boy, but with such a big heart. Complicated, complex. He just wanted to be part of a family.
When his so-called long lost family defrauded him, his dad's car exploding after just rebuilding his relationship with him, and when his fiancee was mistakenly shot in one of the saddest television scenes I can remember -- the raining pouring as he held her lifeless body. He was perfection in that role as if it had been made especially for him.
Rest in peace, Luke. Thank you being such an important part of so many of our younger years.
