Benning didn't have a good draft history with the Bruins and Weisbrod's resume is equally as terrible.
Glad they are in charge of the Canucks' rebuild.

sooo ... who are those sensational talents that they left on the table to draft Patrick Sieloff? Really curious.

The media thinks he was a great hire.
They keep saying that drafting is his strong point.

I fail to see the hate in that post.
Disappointment and frustration, yes, but not hate.

Part of me liked Weisbrod but there were certainly some flags. 2 chances at Matta and he went with Janko ( granted I still think he might work out ). I didn't like the interview he gave when he said that after they dropped down in that draft that if Janko was gone they would have considered Seiloff.
Rumours were he was in charge of the return for JbO and Iggy returns. I can let Iggy return slide because there was to much involved , but the JBo return was lack lustre .
I did like his picks on the last draft, and he was the guy that told Feaster that the small winning streak before the sell off was just a mirage.
It could work out for him in Vancouver with Benning.

It seems to happen a lot around here, criticize someone's ability and it's hate. Now if he started to wish him ill or started to swear at him, that would be hate.

Did I really need to add "at being an assistant GM"?

Yeah, since Feaster confessed that he wasn't a talent evaluater, Weisbrod had to be the man making the recommendations.

yeah but I never really bought that, I think that was just selling his picks ("hey look, that 2nd round pick is so awesome that we actually considered him in the 1st, and now we stole him in the 2nd, isn't that great?"). I remember Button playing that down by saying that they were equally high on Matt Finn and others, so I don't really believe that "Sieloff could have been our 1st rounder" thing.

I like Finn and Sieloff, but there's no way they should have been ranked ahead of Maatta. Something was fundamentally wrong with his drafting process.

I think Weisbroad's main problem was(is?), is his tunnel vision. Feaster had the same problem. Once either of them got focused on a player or prospect them zeroed in on them and because too focused. I think you saw that with Feaster in regards to Byron and Weisbroad with Jankowski.

I agree, I'm just saying that Button said that they liked Finn as much as Sieloff.

Amazing how many drafting and trading experts we have around here, can't we just move on?
Starting to remind me of an oiler forum where everyone is great while they are here but they are a total loser scumbag the moment they are gone.

I didn't hear that. I presume you mean Weisbrod, considering I don't think Feaster had much to do with any of his drafts.
Boomer and Steinbergs comment really show how Button has grown as head scout. 2011 was his draft and I liked it, and I like the 2013 draft.

There were a lot of criticisms of Feaster and Weisbrod before they left but now they're gone it should be all peaches and cream?
