Really old bump, but we're headed to Budapest, then Vienna, this June. Wondering if anyone has been there recently and has any new recommendations for cafes/restaurants/tours/attractions etc. We're pretty adventurous so let em fly!

I’m doing the reverse of this in May (Vienna and then Budapest), so I’m very interested in replies as well!

I did this day tour a few years ago in Budapest and it was great! The guide shows you lots of hidden little historical things, while trying different foods wherever you go.

I'm quoting myself from 6 years ago, but my wife and I went back to Budapest and went to this shooting range.

It was awesome, would highly recommend it.

Years of video games have turned me into a lethal killing machine... my wife, not so much.

Also, my friends who stayed in Europe after I left, also went to Memento Park, which has a collection of old soviet era statues and a museum with old spy stuff, that sounded interesting.

I was looking at that and definitely have it on my list. I’d be interested in hearing from people who’ve seen it though. Otherwise it seems like we’ll see the sites in the inner city and not venture too far out.

My friend says it's fascinating if you're a history buff and much better if you pay for a guide.

We hiked up Gellért Hill to see the Liberty Statue at night. The views of Budapest were incredible. It’s one of my favourite memories from a two week trip I took, which also included Vienna and Prague. Budapest was my favourite city of the trip.

We also did a trip to the traditional baths and it was soooooo worth it.

Which baths did you do? I guess there are a few and I’m not sure which ones to go to. I loved Prague, and I have heard that Budapest is comparable.
