Has anyone watched this movie. I think I'm insane because I love this flick.

A movie about a Nazi living on the far side of the moon dreaming of invading the earth with their Zepplin shaped battleships and flying saucers. A president modeled on Sarah Palin. some great acting, decent effects and a hilarious script.

Technically it looks brilliant as all Nazi scenes are filmed in black and white and earth scenes in color

When I heard about this movie I was excited because I like these dumb movies. However I watched part of it last night and holy crap was it terrible.

Worse than Sucker Punch and that movie was a 2/10.

Sucker Punch was dumber then hell, really like Iron Sky

I thought it was one of the better B movies that I've seen.

I followed the production on and off over the years, and it was really interesting to watch a bunch of friends slowly build up their project. The film itself was a little disappointing. Obviously it's meant to be a "bad" film but in a good way, but it wasn't as loose and funny as it should have been.

I wanted to like it more because the guys behind it are kind of crazy and unpretentious. Reading what went into making the film was very educational though. Trying to get funding, regular and crowd, making the special effects, hiring people, shooting in Australia and Germany, it was really neat.

When they were young, some of those guys did scifi parodies called Star Wreck. I found Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning pretty hilarious. Basically a bunch of friends shot it in the special effects guy's living room. Ultimate nerd fun.

Or it may have just been the Helmswoman:

It's probably a genre thing. I doubt you'd enjoy any show with this genre.

It's definitely a genre thing. If you don't have a taste for goofy b-movies, which Iron Sky aims to be, you will find it baffling. It's meant to be a kind of geek fest, as if they're saying, "Isn't it awesome that we're doing this weird ####ing moon nazi film and don't give a #### about anything?"

Still, in my view it wasn't goofy enough. I think it struggles with maintaining the right tone which makes it feel a little uneven. I thought it would be funnier.

This may be a genre film, but it is a terrible genre film.

Hobo with a Shotgun was just as stupid if not more so and I love that movie.

Iron Sky was dumb, but at least had an interesting plot and a new take on Nazi's, but my god did the movie suck. Was never funny and was just dumb.

So bad. It should have stuck with one style/approach. It jumps all over from B-movie to spoof movie to comedy to good-bad movie and back again.

It had good effects, considering.

Also, the Nazi scenes aren't B&W.

This movie reminded me of "Battleship," which was also acceptably very, very good.

I figured this movie would be right up my alley...for example I loved Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. As mentioned above, this movie was just...bad. Even the 'stunt casting' like the Palin lookalike as the president just fell flat.
