NOTE:
The Complexity of the Treliving Legacy Monahan First Rnder Trade to Habs:
via Sureloss:

"Conditions

(A) if Panthers 2025 first transfers to Flames then
(1) if both Flames and Panthers 2025 firsts are not in top 10 then Canadiens receive more favorable of Flames, Panthers picks;
or
(2) if Flames 2025 first is in top 10 and Panthers 2025 first is not in top 10 then Canadiens receive Panthers 2025 first;

(B) if Panthers 2025 first does not transfer to Flames then
(1) if Flames 2025 first is #1 overall then Canadiens receive Flames 2025 third and more favorable of Flames, Panthers 2026 firsts;
or
(2) if Flames 2025 first is #2-10 then Canadiens receive Flames 2025 first;
or
(3) if Flames 2025 first is not in top 10 then Canadiens receive Flames 2025 first and
(a) if Panthers 2025 first is not in top 10 and (b) Panthers 2025 first has been transferred to another team and (c) Panthers 2025 first is more favorable than Flames then Canadiens receive Flames 2025 fourth)

(A) happens as long as Florida doesn't pick top 10 because the pick was top 10 protected in the Tkachuk trade

(B) happens if Florida picks top 10 which is unlikely to occur it seem right now.

Worst case scenario for (A) would be for the Flames 1st to pick just outside the top 10 and Panthers late 1st round, because that means the Flames would transfer their 1st to Montreal"

2025 looks like the year to pick up a good center in the top half of the draft.

6'5 Western Canadian Centreman? Yes please to Mcqueen. Pair him with Lindstrom (pipe dream i know) and the Flames will be set at C for a decade or more

How many picks do the Flames have in 2025 so far? (i havent done the work to figure out the various 3rd and 4th round pick conditions on the Monahan/Tkachuk trades

Looks like a good year to get a #1 Center in the top 5 next year.

Is the draft on any streaming service? Like the playoffs were on Prime on the citytv channel?

Imagine if we got Lindstrom this year and McQueen next. That’d be a nasty 1-2 punch

Flames are due for a lottery win.

James Hagens, come on down.

Ivan Ryabkin is going to be a machine.

I think the top 5 next year is going to be awesome.

SO SO MUCH GOOD!

Wouldn't mind it, but would prefer to save our draft lottery win for 2026...

Gavin McKenna, welcome to YYC.

Another Misa in the cards?

I am a fan of the McQueen then McKenna (2026) strategy ; )

(Hopefully we survive the Curse of Treliving First Rounder Fumble)

I'm already declaring the Flames performance in the 2025 draft to be a solid B+.

Just for posterity:

Flames/Panthers/Habs 1st Round Pick conditions around Treliving’s parting gift of the Monahan trade:

- If the Flames and Panthers picks are outside of the Top 10, the Habs will receive the higher of the two picks in 2025 (highest potential pick traded away: 11th Overall)

- If the Flames pick in the Top 10, and the Panthers pick outside the Top 10, the Habs will receive the Panthers 2025 pick (highest potential pick: 11th Overall)

- If the Panthers have a Top 10 pick, and the Flames pick is not 1st Overall, the Panthers keep their pick and Habs will receive the Flames 2025 pick, the Flames will then receive the Panthers 2026 pick (highest potential pick, 2nd Overall)

- If the Panthers have a Top 10 pick and the Flames pick is 1st Overall, the Panthers keep their 2025 pick and the Habs will receive the higher of the Flames and Panthers 2026 picks (highest potential pick: 1st Overall)

Basically we want the Panthers to avoid a bad Cup hangover and finish in the Top 21.

There is also potential for the Flames to have no 1st Round Picks next year (Panthers and Devils pick in the top 10 and both their picks get pushed to 2026 while the Flames give up theirs, but would then have four in 2026).

Not as deep as our way too early Top 64 at Upside Hockey's Top 64, but another 2025 Top 10 to share:
