Could I just point my cellphone at it and watch it through that?

Probably burn out your sensor. You could maybe put your sunglasses over the lens to dim it a bit, but I wouldn't do it for more than a few seconds. Depends how much you value your phone sensor.

I've seen a few lunar eclipses - those don't hurt the eyes.

Good morning from central Missouri! With the start of University and the Eclipse, this area has been very busy. Also, hot and extremely humid which I'm not adjusting to very well.

The skies have been mostly clear and the chance of noon thunderstorms is no longer in the forecast so I'm hoping for clear skies in a few hours.

I have to say, I admire the dedication that a lot of you actually traveled to go and see this.

I wonder how many people are going to look at it while at work and claim workers comp.

We are in the Madison County roads dept yard. Bunch of people from all over. They are letting the ladies use their washroom and asking men to use the field.

Took an hour to get through the McDonald's drive thru in Rexburg. Should have 2:17 of totality

A nice couple from Calgary, who parked behind me, gave me a pair of eclipse glasses.

It's incredibly busy at Sage Junction now... it will be fun leaving.

came in looking for a "googles, they do nothing" reference - leaving somewhat satisfied.

I have a floppy straw hat that my wife bought in Mexico, will this allow me to stare directly into the unforgiving gaze of the Sun?

Remember that part in Beavis and Butthead Do America, when Beavis was finally going to score? That's pretty much me right now.

For science I took layers of black garbage bags until a flash from my camera was not visible then taped that over a cardboard rectangle. See what happens, I have no intentions of staring at it anyway I just want to see the silhouette.

In the event I go blind I spent the morning of my driving memorizing the locations of knobs and controls so it doesn't affect my driving.

Just make a pinhole viewer. I made one in 10 minutes this morning.

Just test it on the full sun. I held my glasses to my phone camera lens and it turned out great.
