over 2 minutes left...Esks down 10...they have a first down on the Bombers 26.

Maas kicks a FG.

That was a horrific 4th quarter by the Edmonton receiving core.

I get Maas' decision when kicking the field goal, but I can't say I agree with it, at the very least take one shot, and then kick the field goal on second down.

But at the end of the day, man if the ball hits you in the hands, catch it or head over to the special teams dressing room.

How did Edmonton lose when they dominated first downs, total yards, and were +3 in turnovers?

It was an odd game for sure.

The turnovers were the only thing that even gave the Esks a chance. There were very few big plays by Edmonton but the dink and dunk chunks of yardage were easy to come by as it is with most games...but getting in the end zone was simply impossible for them. Bomber OTOH were going deep/getting huge chunks all game. I think the final total was 67 offensive plays for the Esks and 38 for WPG....oh and penalties against the Esks. They shot themselves in the foot repeatedly in that department. Dumb ones too.

Its why the decision at the end of the game was so freaking bizarre. They HAD to get a TD and a FG to force OT....with over 2 minutes left, they are 1st and 10 on the Bomber 26 yard line...and kick a FG.

I mean what was more likely? Score a TD from the 26....or kick a FG and then kickoff, force a turnover (which they did) or defensive stand, let WPG punt and then try and score the TD from 50/60/70 yards away?

Jason Maas has issues understanding how the math of the game works at times. This is not the first time he has completely yakked up the worst possible decision in regards to game/clock management. So strange to me.

This 3rd and short pistol handoff stuff is just dumb. Get the one yard. Instead everyone thinks that defensive coordinators aren't going to rush 7 and gap cancel and jail break the interior of your offensive line.

There's trusting your offensive line, and then there's over trusting your offensive line. But when you're outnumbered at the LOS no zone block scheme anywhere is going to work.

Agreed totally bizaare. And they have Sean Whyte who was on target all night and can hit the FG from a long distance so why not set up your last scoring drive as a long FG attempt from near midfield??

Both coordinators outsmarted themselves at times last night. Really the Eskimos defense has impressed me to start the season. The Bombers really didn't do a lot on offense outside of some big plays and benefitting from some ticky tack calls in the first half against the Eskimos that kept a few Bombers scoring drives alive. This game was an example of why the Redblacks didn't try too hard to keep Harris as they got tired of this kind of game where he piles up a lot of stats moving the ball up and down the field without getting the job done and finishing drives. That said he's done pretty good considering I think he's working with one of the weaker receiver groups in the league. If Ellingson gets hurt and misses time they are in trouble.

If I was an Eskimo fan, I’d be livid of Maas’ decision making

But I’m not an Eskimo fan, so I don’t understand why everyone is against this lol

Ok Calgary....

Here's what I want you to do:

It's BEAUTIFUL day out...

1. I want you to take your bottles to the depot, dig through the couch, cobble together $40 for each one of you...

2. I want you to take a portion of that money and purchase for yourself a couple of six-packs of your favorite beverage....

3. DON'T EAT!!!! Get hungry....

Make sure the beverages are cold.....

5. About 3:00, take an car, C-train, bus, Uber or taxi or walk to McMahon Stadium...

6. You don't even have to come to our tailgate, but go to a tailgate, ask for a cup, pour your favorite beverage in the cup. take a sip....ahhhhhh….

If you're at our tailgate.....ASK FOR SOMETHING TO EAT!!! You're hungry right? Throw a few sheckles in the donation tray....take another sip....

Wait 15 minutes (good food takes time....), be presented with one of the best damned burgers you'll ever taste.....wiggle your toes....breathe in....relax.....feel the atmosphere around you....

9. There's usually dessert there, offer your significant other one!

10. That beverage tasted good!!!!! Have another....wait....is that a smile on your face?? Are you engaging in conversation!!!! Yes...yes , you are....

11. Head over to the ticket window....buy yourself some cheap $25.00 tickets....

12. Find your seat and sit back and watch the two best QB's in the CFL duke it out for three hours. Stand and cheer, do the wave! (or don't), do the count, try and catch a football! If you still have bucks left buy a 50/50!!!

13. You're gonna realize....until HD comes out with smell-o-vision and throws an electric prod in your keester to jolt you at certain times. YOU WILL NEVER experience what it's like to actually BE at the games.

14. It's cheaper that dinner and a movie, it last longer, you're outside in GORGEOUS weather, you are participating in the continued success of a stories franchise and you're hanging out with people who all have one thing in common...isn't that cool!!!

15 So whaddaya say #YYC ....

Have some fun for little while, you work too hard, it's a long weekend - live a little and pay less for the experience....
