2016 Nanton Golf Course Opening Date Announcement

Over the past few weeks we have been receiving phone calls and emails from many of you excitedly wondering when the course is going to open. We are pleased to announce that we are planning to open the Golf Course Friday, April 8th along with the clubhouse. This date however is not 100% set in stone and may have to change based on weather conditions over the next few weeks. We will send out another email with details letting you know when bookign will open and starting tee times along with a confirmation no later than Monday March 28th. We would like to open the golf course as soon as possible however we need to be cautious and make sure that the course is ready for play so that we don't incur any damage that may affect us for the rest of the season.

The driving range will be opening Friday March 25th at 10am. Hours for the driving range will be Monday - Sunday from 10am to 6pm pending weather. The driving range will be from matts only until the grass is fully growing so that it will be able to recover.

We are excited to get the 2016 season started! If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact us. Please watch for our spring newsletter over the next couple of weeks.

I bailed on it this year due to the economy.

I liked VIP, but my main issue was because most of my friends had bailed on having it, it was almost impossible to use. No one wanted to play any of the times or costs that I could book to benefit me, and if they booked anything I wouldn't get to use it.

I played on Sunday for the first time since December. I had a nice start, parring the first two holes, and three putted the third hole for a bogey. I got into some trouble on the next 10 holes, including putting it OB on a par 3. I parred holes 14-18 to finish, which I was super pumped about. I've never parred 17 and 18 on my course in the same round, so parring the last 5 was exciting. My final total was an 85.

I don't know if Silver Springs Golf Course has offered trial memberships in the past but they are doing it this summer. I don't have all the details but the membership is $5080.

Last year was the first time it was offered. It's a great course. If you live in the NW the location is hard to beat.

Not sure if it is the case here, but I would suspect any "premium" above the typical annual would be applied against your initiation fee if you chose to join. That is how I have seen it applied at other private clubs.

Wondering if we should start a WITB (what's in the bag?) for 2016....?

I'll start but we can let it die if nobody is interested!

Driver: Cobra FlyZ+
3-Wood: still to be determined
Hybrid: Ping Crossover
Irons: Titleist 714 AP2 (4-P)
Wedges: Vokey SM5 (50-56-60)
Putter: Bettinardi Studio Stock 15

Feeling like I might have the right gaps filled this year. 3 wood is always a last minute decision (a 17 degree Adams XTD hybrid is my default). And putter might revert back to my old Odyssey 330.
