Default GAME 15: STAMPEDERS vs Tiger Cats

Calgary Stampeders at Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Tim Hortons Field
Friday, Oct. 13
Kickoff: 5 p.m. MDT
TV: TSN, ESPN 2

Calgary Stampeders(12-1-1) already guaranteed a home game for Western Semi-Final. If they win against Hamilton and a BC Lions victory against Winnipeg will clinched a Western Division title for them. The last time the Stamps played the TiCats, they embarrassed them at McMahon Stadium with the score 60-1.

For Hamilton(4-10) they will need to win against the Stampeders in order to have a chance for a playoff spot. They are currently in 3rd in the East right now but that won't still qualify them for a playoff spot because Edmonton and Saskatchewan are ahead of them. A lost today and a win by Ottawa against the Riders will clinch a playoff spot for Ottawa.

OFFENSE:

QB Bo Levi Mitchell leave early last game against Montreal and also against Hamilton in July but still managed to throw 197 yards and 1 TD vs Ticats and 2 TDs for 265 yards vs Montreal. RB Terry Williams who played in place of Jerome Messam vs Montreal had a great game rushing for 156 yards and scoring 3 rushing TDs that earned him the CFL Player of the Week last week. Williams will be in a lineup today even though Jerome Messam, who happened to played his best game this season against Hamilton with 3 TDs for 91 yards, will be back on the roster.
R Davaris Daniels and Kamar Jorden will be back in the lineup after missing several games. With both receivers back, Stamps managed to keep both R Marken Michel and Reggie Begelton, who have been very impressive in the last few games, in the active roster.

DEFENSE:

MLB Alex Singleton had a great game against Montreal before the Bye-week with 8 tackles. The last time Stamps played Hamilton, Shaq Richardson had a quick 6, Charleston Hughes had 1 sack. Hughes did not record a sack last game(vs Montreal) but James Vaughter, Derek Wiggan and Ja'Gared Davis each had 1 QB sack. Davis also recorded a fumble recovery.

SPECIAL TEAM:

K Rene Paredes were 5 for 5 last game. Roy Finch return 5 punts for 96 yards and 1 Kickoff return for 34 yards before leaving the game due to ankle injury. Roy Finch will miss the game today. His replacement Tunde Adeleke on punt return scored a PR touchdown on the first return after Finch left the game. Marken Michel, Tunde Adeleke and Terry Williams will be responsible for the return tonight.
Special team coverage will have to shut down Speedy Banks again tonight.

ROSTER MOVES:

IN: R Davaris Daniels, R Kamar Jorden, RB Jerome Messam, LB Dwayne Norman and OL Randy Richards.

OUT: RB Roy Finch(injured), LB Wynton McManis(injured), OL Justin Renfrow, DT Randy Colling and R Julan Lynch.

For Hamilton:
Ex-Stamps Ben D’Aguilar and Osagie Odiase will be facing their former squad after arriving in Hamilton mid-season. Another new addition to the Ticats roster, Kenny Allen, will be making his punting and kicking debut in place of the injured Sergio Castillo.

GO STAMPS GO!!!

Another special teams TD...terry Williams blocks a punt and Langlais falls on it in the end zone.

This team can score any way they like at times.

Williams has to be one of the fastest players in the entire league. Insane acceleration.

Again, DD forced to use a challenge due to officiating incompetence.

Wow... I knew the CFL refs were bad but holy f***. The guy was like 10 feet out of bounds and now DD has to use his challenge. You've gotta be s***ing me.

This is where the video review official needs to inform the head ref that the call was blatantly wrong and overturn it so DD can save his challenge.

Rod Black was twice as excited for a midfield sack by Hamilton as he was for the blocked punt and touchdown by Calgary. The guy is such a hack. Get some damn professionalism.

This is why there should be at least a little discipline for refs. I understand the game moves fast and some calls are going to be questionable. Ok that's fine, but you could be watching the game from goddamn orbit and see that was out of bounds.

He had a few great long passes early go right through the fingertips of his receivers. Whole offense doesn't look locked in yet.

True but every single short pass looks to be a yard or two behind the receivers. The refs are hot garbage tonight as well

They're not known as Andre 'Bad Crew' Proulx for nothing.

That's what happens when the team is undisciplined. The always consistent Maver had a bad punt then we got a double penalties on that play. Hamilton scored on the awesome field possession they have.

The 'this is so shocking that this is even a game!' narrative is so annoying.

Please. Nobody is surprised that Hamilton has a chip on their shoulder and is coming out and playing hard.

Why did Bo not just run that in? So much room there.

Missed the 1st quarter and 3/4 of the 2nd quarter. I guess I missed some stuff.

Damn, i can't believe Bo Levi Mitchell did not run that ball. He was wide open and could even get a TD on that. That was one of the rare bad decision by Mitchell.
