This is another way of saying 'Kaberle.'

Make it happen, Sutter! Could see Pardy and a 1st going the other way ... fits the Leafs' youth movement well.

I agree that would be what we need the most.

But I feel comfortable enough in the team that I wouldn't go for it unless the deal REALLY made sense and we didn't have to give up a whole lot. IE, pick up a player, but don't just pick up a stud rental.

In 06/07, Brodeur got his 30th win in. . . . . Game 48.

So definitely not "faster than anyone else in history"

God No...Pardy has the potential to be a top 4 d-man in this league and to put in our first round pick too for Kaberle just sounds disgusting

YEp, this team has one flaw and one flaw only... A true power-play quarter back. Thats it.

Twas a fight, although not much of one. Bert got a few good shots in and tackled Tootoo, I think he hurt his shoulder actually when he went down in a bad position.

One of many who is too boring; thinks that there should be rules regarding grammar in custom user titles, and also makes moderators wonder if there is a charachter limit here. I mean come on- you would think that would be a limitation in the software

I only saw the one Dome replay, but it looked like Tootoo decided to stop a locomotive with predictable results, got up, crosschecked Bertuzzi in the back, just to show how much of a man he is, then they fought. Wasn't much of a fight, but Bertuzzi ended up on top following the takedown.

And keep in mind that Kipper said that Mcbackup will be getting some starts soon. So even though he is/was on pace with Marty B, Kipper may not keep the pace.

So, just how far ahead of the rest of the division are the Flames?

The playoff predictor website didn't even list Oilers-Wild as a "big game" affecting Calgary.

Yep. either that or his head. Bertuzzi came down with a decent (unintentional) MMA elbow on him on the takedown.

... but Kaberle is a top 2 D with 2 years left on a very good contract ($4.5 mln for a D that averages 50+ points consistently for the past 9 years). He's also only a minus this year, on a horrible team with NO goaltending to speak of.

Fact is, he's an excellent, underrated defenceman that adds the dimension we need for a decent price. Sure, Pardy might play #4 some day; but this Flames team is about now. If the Leafs take the deal, you pull the trigger. Add Kaberle, and this team is looking pretty great for the big shiney thing, 2009 version. And that's worth a future #4 D any day.

Agreed. I love Pardy, but I would make that trade.

Especially with Pelech and a couple others coming up the pipe.

What a great save by kipper!!!

Bertuzzi is slowly becoming a flame... His north-south game and backchecking/defence (therefore +/-) is improving. And his chip is building up on his shoulder again.

Bad luck for pardy, might even cost him a game in the lineup in the back to backs.

Nothing to complain about whatsoever.

I think that with the way the standings are looking at the moment there are going to be a lot less buyers than sellers of D-day.

That's only good news for the Leafs if they're trading Kaberle. Going to be a bidding war methinks.

how many starts was that for Brodeur though? Kipper has his 30th win in his 45th game played

I would sooner trade Pelech and Negrin and a first for Kaberle than get rid of Pardy.

Pelech and Negrin don't have NHL experience, Pardy's arguably our 3rd best D-man already. Stupid to get rid of that for two unknown quantities (Pardy's replacement and Kaberle)

Agreed. But it's all abotu needs. WHo in a position to make a push could use Kaberle. Detroit and San Jose are solid on puck-moving D; so is Chicago. Rangers have to think they're set on D; ditto NJ. Could see Philly or Pittsburgh making a play for him. So between Philly, Pitt and the Flames, who can make the best offer?

Edmonton is 2nd in the division!!!

I can't see the flames trading a roster player not named vandermeer or primeau.
