I have been wanting to see this all year. But I also understand why Bennett is staying on the wing.

I think tonight's projected lines make the most sense given that we play back-to-back and need a true shutdown line against the grease. With Backs out, Ryan is logical for centering the line that will likely take on McDavid, so we might as well get the chemistry going now.

I can live with it when his partner can shoot (which Andersson can, Hamonic couldn't) and skate (Andersson somewhat can, Wideman couldn't) and make a first pass (Andersson can, Engelland couldn't).

We should be able to win this game. The Preds are far more depleted than the Flames.

Personally I would drop Lindholm to play shutdown duties and bump Neal to the 1st line (not deservedly so, but give him an extended chance with some line up issues might be the best time for it.

Ryan can handle shutdown duties. Let the beast prowl!

Rick Ball, Louie DeBrusk, and Scott Oake will be the commentators for the Predators-Flames game.

Hopefully Peters isn't shy about throwing the bottom 9 in a blender. Could be a big opportunity for a number of players. Sometimes an injury is a blessing in disguise if a depth player takes a step forward with more ice time.

The big X factor in this is the goaltending. Good teams find a way to keep winning when they've got injuries, but I think more often than not that falls to the goalie. If Smith is on his game, we can definitely win on the back of the first line, first PP unit, and good goaltending.

I'd bet on seeing more fluid D pairs as well. If I'm Peters, I'd be double-shifting Brodie with Kylington throughout the game, similar to what Quenneville did in the Hawks last cup win. Probably also rotate Hanifin and Hamonic in as well.

I don't trust Ryan to win a board or net front battle below the hashmarks in his own zone.

No Forsberg, Arvidsson, Turris or Subban

We will be fine with Ryan on the second line

I agree, two of the greatest assets that this team has are great mental stability, and very stable geniuses.

Personally, I'm just relieved that the GDT is many hours old and five pages deep and nobody has yet noticed that I screwed up the title....

Big 2 points up for grabs tonight. Here's to hoping Hanifin or Andersson can fuel the #1 power play unit in lieu of Gio. Never hurts to have a fresh perspective either. Go Flames!

Exactly.

On a side note, Bruins are absolutely decimated with injuries and taking it to the “best team on the planet”, 3-0

Please do not move Lindholm off the top line to play shutdown duties. The Flames only have so many high-skill players. Don't waste one of them by putting them in a shutdown role. The top line is rolling, let's keep it that way.

I'm a little disappointed to hear the Brodie is playing on the left side again, but oh well.
