I’m guessing the list of players with 5 goals in their last 6 playoff games in quite a short list.
Monahan is on that list.

It means anything can happen and it's not the end of the world because Flames lost a game and series is tied 1:1.

We will played bad, they played really good. Game went to overtime and turned on 1 play. That bodes well for the rest of the series.

I expect the Flames to have a good bounce back in the next game.
Bennett though was awesome.

Hmm, I am the one with a tantrum? LOL. I just said that Monahan is not playing well. He is NOT playing like a #1 C.
Agree or disagree but don't call me a 12 year olds child. I have kids of my own that are older that that.
Anyways, outside of the goal (lucky shot?) , what did Monahan do to be in the same conversation as MacKinnon ? Or ROR ETC?
The guy is a ghost. He is no better than Neal. Completely invisible.
I can appreciate a good shot, but I want to see it after January for once. The guy seems to disappear at the worst time every year. Injuries? Maybe, but makes no difference. We need a top line C if we want to win something in the playoffs. Nothing against Monahan the person, but we need a top line C to DELIVER when it counts. Not in November and December. April and on.
But hey, whatever rocks your boat. Monny was great. So was Brodie and all of the Flames. Great game, bummer they didn't win. They dominated it.

I honestly don't get it. It just seems like a depressing mindset to have.

No.
They weren’t.
Just because they didn’t DOMINATE, doesn’t mean they were COMPLETELY outplayed.
Grab a brain, that’s a hyperbole for a 5-1 loss.

Oh wait, sorry. That was Sean Monahan. O'Reilly had an even plus-minus and didn't throw any hits.

ROR was a force out there and his team is 2-0 starting on the road.

I still think Monahan is a great centre and player. He needs to step up and show who he truly is which is an high leve sniper. However to say he is better than Oreilly, I would beg to differ. I’d have to say putting salary and age aside, I would take Oreilly. Their offensive numbers are similar. But, Oreilly plays the PK and is one of the best face off players in the game. Plus Oreilly is much better defensively.
The concern with Monny is warranted as he has just not been the same player since the mandated/asg break. We need him if we are to make any waves in the post season.

O well just one game out of 7. Get them next time.

Well there’s definitely a couple people who aren’t fans of him at all. But I remember the James Neal threads loaded with stuff like “he’s saving it for the playoffs” or “give him time, he’ll turn it around” or “he’ll prove his worth, just watch.”
Just all kinds of excuses that had me rolling my eyes. This is the Neal I expected to see in the playoffs, it’s the Neal I expected after the preseason and it’s the probably the Neal we’ll get for the next 4 years if he even finishes his contract here.
In no way shape or form should he be playing more than guy like Derek Ryan, Andrew Mangiapane, Sam Bennett and etc right now.

What the ####?
We had a 2-1 lead with six minutes left to go. Even if he made a bad play on the first goal against, he had a clean pass on the tying goal. The rest of the time, the Giordano-Brodie pair played the game as well as they could against a freak of nature on a mission.
The Hamonic-Giordano pair got scored on for the tying goal. Mostly because Lindholm botched his coverage but also a tough bounce off Hamonic's skates that he misplayed.
The Andersson-Giordano pair got scored on for the winning goal. Mostly because Backlund botched his coverage.
Brodie didn't play a great game, but he still had four blocked shots and generally kept the MacKinnon line to the perimeter 5-on-5. Blaming Brodie for this loss is just.. ####ing idiotic.
If you want to blame a single person for the loss blame Lindholm or Backlund.

They weren't completely outplayed. Not their best game by any standard but lets take a breath guys. Series is 1-1 and they've played well on the road this season. Colorado's 2nd goal was pretty lucky, took a great bounce and landed in a perfect spot. That doesn't happen and we're probably talking about a 2-0 lead.
Also its not the honda center so we don't need to chalk that up as 2 losses.
