^ Nice trade. Hagelin is a great addition to the Sharks' playoff push. Pirri has had some issues but the potential is there to be a real contributor in the league.

Buffalo sends Matt Greene D to New Jersey for Steve Michalek G.
On the surface it may seem a little lop-sided for the Devils but Greene is UFA, 32 and on LTIR. I won't be re-signing him. I think he'll help New Jersey a lot for the rest of this year though.

The Edmonton Oilers have sent C Alex Khohklachev to the Calgary Flames in exchange for D Stephen Johns.
Acting Flames GM, KevanGuy, was concerned that Khohklachev may flee to Russia, so we each put a condition on our players.
TO CGY: If Khohklachev leaves for Russia before October 1, 2017, the Oilers will send the Flames a 4th round pick before the 2018 draft.
TO EDM: If Khohklachev plays more games than Stephen Johns between October 1, 2016 and October 1, 2017, the Flames will send the Oilers a 4th round pick before the 2018 draft.

^Thanks for the easy deal Hesla. I traded Tobias Rieder to Calgary for Merrill a week ago (forgot to post it here). I think Merrill may get into some re-rate trouble next year - plus I wanted a pick in the 2nd round since I gave it up in the Wheeler deal a couple of days ago. So I shipped him right back out.
I save 3 million for UFA signings and Benoit is a good fill in on D for the moment.
