Off to a first-set tiebreaker. Entertaining match. Nice variety of shots from Bianca, and her mobility looks solid.

Meanwhile, Brady and Muchova need a 3rd set to determine who is going to lose in Naomi in the Aussie Open final.

Does anybody want to win this 1st set tie-breaker between Bianca and Marie?

Bianca takes the first set. It was a shaky tiebreak, but she gutted it out.
She’s now getting help with a blister.

Second set getting away from Bianca.
It’s getting late...

She had multiple match points, too. She’ll be disappointed because she started the third set with a break. On to the next one. Good for her to be getting as much action as she is.

So will we hear much more from Aslan Karatsev in the years to follow or is this more like a Chris Lewis run to the 1983 Wimbledon final as an unseeded player only to be spanked by Johnny Mac?

Watching Osaka I don't really see any holes in her game. Can someone who watches more Women's tennis explain why she hasn't had much success at the French Open or Wimbledon? Does her game just not translate off hard court or do you think success will come this year?

If Medvedev wins the Aussie Open (and I think he will at least get to the final), he will overtake Rafa in the rankings and be #2 in the world.

Speaking of Medvedev, the following is NSFW - language. At the end of the Medvedev, Greek Yogurt match (Miami 2018)

Imagine Medvedev being the #2 seed at the French Open when he's never won a match there before and Rafa and Thiem are the 3 & 4 seeds. Need a clay ranking system like Wimbledon

nah, he's 27. it was a run like Sandgren and a bunch of others.

It really is a shame that Felix lost to Karatsev, I mean we don't know if he would have beaten Dimitrov, but the way Grigor was struggling I would have liked Felix's chances. Djoker likely beats Felix in the semi-finals, but just getting that far in a major would have given FAA a big boost of confidence.
