I thought you couldn't waive injured players? Is he coming back from LTIR?

He has already been cleared by the doctors. He was on a conditioning stint with their AHL team and played 5 games in the AHL.

At least Ladd has the decency to get himself hurt now and again.

Although, that brings up an interesting point, if a player who's already buried in the minors gets hurt, can you put them on LTIR and get cap relief?

Things like this show why appeals to authority are strange.

Not a good thing that the Flames two of those contracts are on the Flames books.

I saw this on HFboards.

Some guy wrote $274 million dollars worth of contracts and 5 goals and 3 wins a month into this season to show for it.

Out of the Lucic 42 million dollar contract;

The Flames will pay 16,625,000 to have Lucic for 4 seasons, while the Oilers will have paid him 25,375,000 for 3 seasons of service.

It does kind of show how bad NHL GM's are. Those players on the list weren't great the day they hit UFA and if you go back to the UFA thread here I wouldn't be surprised if most fans here didn't think many of those contracts were very good.

Lucic likely would have been on waivers by now, but his contract prohibits it.
