Speaking of sheep following...I'm sure someone will post some ridiculous advanced stats showing Bennett is somehow useful and rest of the sheep will line up.

The series where Flames bowed out in 5 games? Ya he really made a difference.

Mangiapaine getting an A is ridiculous. He has played well, and looks pretty good out there most nights, but he has missed many glorious chances, seems about 1/2 step behind in the offensive zone. I would have went B- to B for him.

Even worse is Stone getting an F. Like, really? What do you want from this guy? He has taken his role and not said a word, has been solid if unspectacular when called upon. That sounds like a C.

Is he pandering to the online mob with the Brodie and Bennett evaluations?

Yeah, he couldn’t replace the top line when it went MIA. Shame on him

I think Haynes graded on the curve for this exercise. He needed another "A" player and I guess Mangiapanne was the closest one.

Dumb take. Top players on the team vanish, hardly anyone can come up with a puck along the boards, but Bennett steps up and you don't want to give him credit because it doesn't fit your narrative? Keep going Da Chief. Tell me more.

I have no narrative to fit bud. Bad player is a bad player. You keep up the optimism.

Don't have a subscription, but I was curious to know what he gave Monahan

Busts happen. Cut your losses and move on imo.
I'm not sure who earned ice time this season from forwards. Kind a everybody is just average at best.
I thought Hall has low hockey IQ when he played for Oilers, but then he gets much better when he traded NJ. I think Bennett will get better if he plays with good players with more minutes. At least his trade value increases if he gets more points, if you trade him next year.

Maybe my expectations are low, but I havent minded Stone in his limited time. Generally pretty physical and/or unnoticeable (which is not a bad thing for a bottom pairing vet).

Granted I havent been able to watch a lot of full games so far this season.

No way that Mangiapane deserves an A. More like a C or D. He has been given opportunity and is dropping the ball. Tkachuk must be getting frustrated setting Backlund and him up perfectly and they mishandle the puck, miss the net, or just whiff on shots that should be goals.

Brodie deserves at least a B. Seems to be a bit out of favour. Smooth skater, logs a lot of minutes and does have occasional gaffs but his positives far outweigh any negatives.

Ehh we are what we are, a bubble playoff team. I just want these ridiculous expectations dialed back a bit. We’re not a contender yet and the team is still young so let’s support this group with a positive atmosphere and hope they grow into their potential. This offseason we need another top 6C in the worst way possible, Tre has to realize that is our biggest weakness by far.

I honestly feel that in spite of his challenges Monahan has looked fantastic this year. He looks faster and more engaged. Not arguing with the ranking but in spite of scoresheet results he looks more like a #1 C than ever. IMHO
