[Trade] SJ acquires Dubnyk (50% retained) and 2022 7th for a 2022 5th round pick

I'm too lazy to do it again, but compare SJ and BOS cores in terms of age. BOS lapped the field to the Pres Trophy this year, and they are at least as old as SJ at key positions.

SJ might be done. but they might not. Much like DET, I want to smell their corpse actually rotting before I'm convinced it's over.

LOL, I didn’t frame it as a bet, but they did finish last last year in the West, so it’s not inconceivable they do so again.

A number of posters gave me their opinion as to why the Sharks aren’t done, and while all have made decent points, and might prove right, I am still not convinced.

Adding a bad goalie to another bad goalies just doubles down on bad goaltending.

Boston is an older team too, but some of their older guys are some of the best players in the NHL. Age might be the only thing those teams have in common.

SJ’s -44 goal differential is what concerns me the most. How do they get that to 0, which is about the level they need to be at to contend for a playoff spot. Where is that going to come from? That’s a big gap to overcome.

Yup we are.

OT switched to 3 on 3 and we were not prepared. Only 1 Dman out, who is a high risk / high reward forward normally.

The Sharks are running two of the worst goalies in the NHL. They are stealth tanking IMO.

The Hawks goalies are at least young, so it's plausible that they could get better. For example, I think people thought Columbus would have a bad tandem post-Bobrovsky.

I think it's more likely that Dubnyk and Jones will get worse, rather than better
