600 goals and 1300 points sounds reasonable for Valimaki.

I don't know Cap. According to DS he's "shining like a well-cut diamond".
David Staples tweets are usually cringe worthy, that one was full fledged seizure worthy.

Puljujärvi's puck handling mistake in their own zone resulted to Ässät taking the 1-0 -lead (eventually Puljujärvi's team Kärpät won 3-4). Puljujärvi got a lot of critique from two former NHL-players (nowadays Liiga-commentators Sami Kapanen and Esa Pirnes). They didn't like the back check Puljujärvi gave (or didn't) after that puck loss. The video shows how Puljujärvi just glides but doesn't relentlessly skate after the puck, and Kapanen pointed out that this is not the style of game you need to play in order to lock the position in the NHL.

Puljujärvi is held pointless four games in a row. On the other hand, he made a well timed screen in front of the net in Kärpät's GWG yesterday, but he lets lots to be desired. Especially his defensive game and that stupid-looking "curvey-glide" is something that he should get rid of, and start to move his feet more.

It makes me happy to realise, that currently the best prospect playing in Liiga belongs to the C of Red.

Some kinda diamond.

Actually by that description he sounds about as ready as you can be to excel at Oilers hockey, so Staples was not wrong there.

Could it be possible that Staples scouting, which consists of watching highlights on youtube could be wrong? Nah, actually he's probably wrong, have you noticed that through the decades of draft despair with the Oilers that Staples contends that every prospect is completely awesome game changing and nhl ready.

The guys an embarressment, I hate the idea that pool party will likely bust because I took a flyer on him in the CPHL. But he's just not smart enough or motivated enough fo for the NHL yet alone the AHL. Stay in the beer league Jessie, get paid in Pizza.

I think the most appropriate term for the player, given the 15 year trend of the Oilers offseason championships as crowned by Staples and the other news media around the country whole clumsily follows along blindly, is the Hope Diamond.

And, the accompanying curse that goes along with said diamond.

Staples, building up expectations. I mean, it worked so well last time he JP came over.

That's the thing. How many times are you going to gushingly and embarrassingly overhype and falate prospects, only to see them not live up to your ridiculous expectations, before you realize that maybe - maybe - that strategy isn't doing you any favours?

Thanked for appropriate use of fellate!

It’s about keeping the fan base engaged.

As P.T. Barnum allegedly once said “There’s a sucker born every minute”. Kevin Lowe and the fawning media know this all too well.

No. Because David Staples is stupid.

Unreal. He actually took one stride, and then Tyke Hockey Coach’d it the rest of the way in.
