I heard he was already "raided" by the police and AHS but who knows. I believe he was running programs when he shouldn't have been.

Yeah. In the comments he mentioned the 6am-midnight.

In the press conference today, they said "early next week" for some sort of decision on allowing rec facilities to open sooner.

My daughter plays in a 3 on 3 and that is starting up July 6, only 2 skaters on the bench.

I heard that the boy will get some form of box lacrosse, but what exactly i to be seen.

If I am reading this correctly, you can't play on more than one team or play more than one sport, and you have to stick with the same team/sport for the whole of Phase 2.

For hockey/sports camps, activities would have to be modified to allow for 2m spacing, or you would only be able to attend one camp for the whole of Phase 2.

Drop-in shinny, public stick and puck, and public skating are not allowed.

I was wondering is too but cannot see any clarification? This affects by boy if true.

Edit

1 Cohort is defined as a closed, small group of no more than 50 individuals who participate in the same sport or activity, and
remain together for the duration of Stage 2

This will sadden my son as he has to choose between soccer and hockey

So when they say cohort of 50 individuals, they are meaning the entire league has to be 50 people or less, correct? For example a "league" of 5 teams with 10 players each could play against each other so long as none of those 50 play any other sport?

Correct. Don't forget to include officials and coaches as well

Are you sure?? I just got an email from a summer hockey league saying they were back starting mid July.

I asked my mens ball team and I'd say about 1/2 said they're out for any ball this year even if it did come back after the announcement Monday. At least with ball you can kind of keep a distance.

In the document it says:

Mini-leagues and bubbles cannot exceed 50 people. This number includes those participants, officials, coaches and trainers who cannot maintain two metres of distance from others at all times. This number does not include parents and spectators.

For soccer (11v11) the cohort rules basically mean you can only have games with one other team. We are still waiting on CMSA to release some guidence but they anticpate some time in July for the "season" to start. We have begun socially distance practices. The kids are enjoying just being together.

I guess the assumption is that we will move to Phase 3 before September, or there will be some modification to the rules to allow for transition from one seasonal sport to the next.

A lot of the leagues that I have chatted say the rules aren't very clear and leave a lot up for interpretation.

If I was running a league I'd say the way to do it is each division would be its own league. 4 teams of 11 players, 1 time keeper, 2 refs. The catch is you can't play in any other divisions and you don't allow subs outside of the players in your division.

So a league that has 10 divisions would just be 10 mini leagues. I guess it could work out like that but what places with open up? I think Peter said early West Hillhurst Community Association said they wouldn't be opening. What other arenas would go that way?

So, does interpretation of the following also mean that all players must be from the same quadrant of the city? Or that you can't play at an arena that is in another quadrant of the city?

Quote:
For Stage 2 of Relaunch, activities should be restricted to local community opportunities. Participants should not seek sport, physical activity and recreation opportunities in other regions, or out of province.
Quote:
Cohorts or mini-leagues should remain together during Stage 2 of Relaunch and only play within the same geographical region (e.g., within a county, town or quadrant of a city).

If it does, just ignore it, because it would be ridiculous.

I spoke to a guy with CUSA, and he said they're working on putting together a mini league...7v7 as opposed to 11v11. This would allow more teams in each division due to the 50-person cohort limit.

It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing for sure.

Got an email from the guy that organizes our summer shinny. Sounds like the arena will open to small groups, figure skating etc. relatively soon and they are anticipating shinny might be able to begin late July. Keeping fingers crossed, it is not a certainty yet.
