Seeing the Flames at 26 brings back horrible memories of Poirier, Klimchuk, Pelech, Chucko, Nemisz, Irving, and countless others I’ve probably forgotten.

Really seems like the only notable success story they’ve had with picks in the 20s is Backlund. Hoping that pattern changes.

An interesting Backlund-ish pick this year would be Simon Holmstrom - a kid who similarly has played well when he's played but has had a string of injuries.
He's a guy who might be there if you drop down to pick up a pick.

I am really curious as to how much trading down will occur.

The vibe I get is that there will be a lot of teams looking to trade down in the 20s but I am unsure of how many teams will actually be looking to trade up to get in the 20s.

Flames 1st - 26
Flames 3rd - 88
Islanders 4th -116: acquired from NYI in Hamonic trade
Flames 5th - 150
Canes 7th - 214: acquired from CAR in Lack trade

Where are the other Flames picks:
Flames 2nd - 57: traded to NYI in Hamonic deal
Flames 4th - 119: traded to Habs for 122 in 2018 draft (Milos Roman) . Habs later traded the pick to the Kings
Flames 6th - 181: traded to CAR in Lack trade
Flames 7th - 212: traded to OTT for Nick Shore. Sens later traded this pick CBJ in Dzingel trade

The Flames have their own 1st, 3rd, and 5th round picks, plus the Islanders' 4th, and Carolina's 7th.

Blah, I'm still upset that Poirier pick didn't work out. He had such a unique combination of size, grit and speed. It felt like he was on really good career projectory too! I remember when he was called out to Abbostford for a cup of coffee during the end of the 2014 season and looked great, and then as a 19 year old the following season he put up really good numbers. Obviously we all know that he was battling some demons with alcohol, so I am hoping that he is still in a good place with that.

Feels nice to have picks in the top 93 this year. I feel like Brad has some tricks up his sleeve to get us a couple more in that area as well.

If Brodie gets traded today they'll likely get a couple more.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if we get another top 100 pick or two

Lots of rumors circulating that the Hawks will take Dach at 3, which could completely change the projections for the top 10.

Rumors that Buffalo likes Knight a lot. But enough to take him at 7? Maybe a trade down scenario.

I don't have cable/satelite anymore. Where would I stream/radio the draft? Would the Fan have it?
