He was the best defensive rb in the league last year so I think it's possible, especially in a back 3 maybe? Like how pep and southgate have used walker

possible. But Wan-Bissaka was only just converted from winger to RB a year or two ago, converting him again would be a bit much.

I'm not penciling in James in any lineups, he'll need time. Don't see him start many games this upcoming season.

Looks like we have a new relegation front runner.

Well Rafa is out in Newcastle and it looks like a mess there. He’s been good for them and without him a lot of people are saying they’ll be relegated. It’s too soon for that, but it’s going to be a problem!

I don’t know if that takeover is still happening. Rumour is that the Sheikh who was buying them doesn’t have the money he says he does. I figure if that was going to happen then Rafa might stay, but I don’t really follow these guys.

so it looks like Rafa was caught by surprise by Newcastles statement and actually thought he might re-sign there. Shambles.

Ashley definitely way up there for worst owner in sports. I suppose he might finally sell when they get relegated this year, sucks for Newcastle fans to have to root for the worst, but it's probably their best hope to get rid of him.

Last I heard, he doesn’t have the money he says he does. I read somewhere that he wanted to buy another club a few years ago and the same type of scenario took place.

A Sheikh without money?!? Will the injustices never end?

Well he might have money, just not “buy a football club” kind of money. Football finance is just fascinating to me. I mean years ago (and not that long ago!) you could buy clubs for the cost a player these days. Part of that’s inflation, but part of that is just plain astronomical.

I'm super excited about this. I realise that I'm setting myself up for an enormous letdown if it falls through or someone manages to swoop in, but we really need a player in his mould.

I'm partly just amazed that Levy pulled out his wallet though.

He'll probably pass when he should shoot and be largely underwhelming.

As long as he keeps his hands behind his back at all times, you guys won't have a chance next time!

^ why would Zaha want to go there? I guess it's a step up from Palace, but it's a pretty small one. The bright lights of Baku on a Thursday night must be alluring!

glad AWB is done. On to the next one ... still need a CB, a CM and a RW, and that's before Pogba/Lukaku leaving even comes into play.

They're going to need a new Magic-Man unless they're expecting KDB to take another step.

Foden seems the logical replacement.
