Default Telus CIS430 PVR Question

Can you download a recorded program from the PVR onto a USB or is that considered a no no and I shouldn't post that here?

No way to do it unless you do something like output from the pvr to a tv tuner card, and re-record the video that way. The telus box is pretty locked down: recordings are encrypted, USB port is not enabled, and the box is tied to the physical hard drive so it will recognize, for example, if the hard drive has been swapped out with a different drive, even if you mirror the original drive to the new one.

If I recall correctly, I think even recordings are not watchable if the network connection is down.

Usually news stories can be found on their website. If you can track it down there's plenty of browser extensions that can help you download it.

Or you could contact the tv station and explain the circumstance. I'd bet they'd help you directly.

Wow, blond moment! My brother is an editor at the station. Good call Redvan! *Disclaimer for my defense is he just started there...*
