Flames should have taken Maatta instead of Jankowski. Letting Kahun slip through our fingers like this is franchise crippling development.

It was snark. Don't you recall all the hand wringing over the Flames by-passing Maatta when they drafted Jankowski, like it was a certainty that they would have selected Maatta in the first place? It's just one of this ridiculous extrapolations you see when dots are connected from unfavorable decision by the team. Again, all snark.

A lot of people said we should have drafted maatta instead of janko. If we had picked maatta, we could have traded him for kahun now.
It's a joke because some people are always looking for a reason to be upset and are want validation. This is just a shot at those people.
I actually wanted maatta over janko....so shut up! Lol
That was a decent draft class: Matt Murray, fredrik Anderson, colton parayko, hellybuck or whatever lol. It just wasnt a great draft for the Flames.

I came to post about remembering that there was a vocal group who were very disappointed the Flames chose Jankowski over Maata. I don't think Jankowski's progression is close to being over or plateaued though. It's his second year in the NHL. Not really fair to write him off yet.

Kahun got some top 6 minutes last year, but, was pretty unimpressive...Chicago has a bit of a log jam at middle 6 quality wingers. They just traded bottom 6 quality, John Hayden, for Quenville, a bottom pairing D-Man from the Devils, so my impression is that they are clearing less favored wingers.
Maata, by all accounts, is a pylon at this point, I am disappointed by the return for the, somewhat hyped, Kahun.

Quennville is a centre. You may be confusing him with that other one.

Hah...Srry...but, IMO the only Quennville that matters is the one behind FLA's bench!
Bowman is infuriating, though, trade for Centers, then draft a Center, makes no sense. I expect the 'Hawks to dump Anisimov. a good soldier, on July 1 when his trade clause lapses. Bowman will not get much back for him, but, has maneuvered himself into a massive surplus of centers.

Centres are the most important position in hockey. Q is likely a 4th Liner or depth I’m guessing.
