I'm really trying to see where he helped form conservative fiscal policies during the Harper era, but I can't find a thing. The most obvious association here is his time with the Alberta Taxpayer Association and the CTF, but that was early 90's. Maybe he had some input for the budget of his Ministry during the Harper years?

"Fiscally liberal", as an antonym to 'fiscally conservative', isn't a thing. Perhaps you're looking for the words 'wasteful', 'socialist', or 'Keynesian'.

Decent reading, though a bit light and I'll have to watch the interview later. Nothing that strikes as particularity Burkeian however.

Come on UCP, get it together...

According to the report, Gill approached the tables where the volunteers were handing out ballots and checking identification.
The woman "saw him casually pick up a stack of the presidential ballots and board ballots and walk away. She was shocked and sat feeling a bit stunned," the report said....
When the vote was carried out, 124 ballots were cast for president. Only 74 ballots had been issued by volunteers. Fourteen ballots were not initialled by the registrars.

Do you have a source or evidence that shows he’s fiscally an idiot. Because that seems to be the standard for relatively known claims now.

I'm extremely weary of a guy who claims to be a fiscal conservative that can fix the economy and put Albertans back to work, yet has no obvious experience of implementing large-scale fiscal policy across large jurisdictions nor is able to release a platform detailing this.
If anything, people who claim such things should be releasing their platform as early as possible so that the population can digest what the plan is and take appropriate feedback if it isn't what it's cut out to be.
"I'm going to save Alberta but I'm not going to tell you how I'm going to do it".
I have questions.

This is the type of thing an economic idiot says:

Or maybe he's not an idiot, maybe he's just a craven self serving snake oil salesman willing to say or do whatever it takes to attain power.
Oh well, I'm sure I've changed some hearts and minds.

In the big picture that's kind of minor and I don't think it means much. But it's what people do. Find a mistake and pounce. I get that. It's not like it makes suing ourselves a bright idea.

Uh oh.
You might be a fiscal idiot too.
Maybe.
I'm not sure.

The largest tax increase in a generation wasn't part of the last platform of the NDP, yet you seem to be ok with that?
Where's our social licence? Wasn't that supposed to be part of this deal? I'm extremely worried about someone who so clearly failed in the most important economic file facing Alberta, and not only that voluntarily destroyed jobs in the process.
Over 100,000 jobs lost, and our economy continues to falter. No recovery at all.
There's no reason to ever vote NDP again.

No party releases a platform until a election writ is dropped and even then you don't see it until well into the election.
That's on both sides of the aisle.
Especially for the opposition parties.

UCP can't be trusted. At this point they are selling a magic potion that makes you superman but doesn't want to tell you the ingredients.
NDP has already given you the snake oil but then notified Albertans it also had asbestos in it.
