Bianca made it to the final in Japan at the ITF05A (Kashiwa) but fell to Kumkhum of Thailand.
Rebecca is currently taking part in qualifiers for the ITF06A (Osaka). Bianca has already qualified.

Second week in a row Bianca has made it to the finals and lost to Kumkhum both times. Still just 17 years old (as opposed to Kumkhum who is 24).

The timing is a bit out of whack for that but I would be all for another 2-3 weeks of grass events on the calendar.

what about guru Pepe though, is he still on the team? speculation is that his advocacy of the healing power of hugs and denouncement of over-competitiveness has been part of Nole's slide.
at least he isn't like Patty Schnyder's guru, who did that crazy blood cleansing thing with a medieval rolling pin.

Rebecca Marino continues her strong run of play in Japan at the ITF 06A event. She defeated Kurumi Nara of Japan (ranked #100 on the WTA tour) in straight sets 6-3 6-4 and is into the semi-finals.

Today is Marathon Tennis Saturday from Marrakech, Morocco as both the QF and SF matches will be held today after the Quarters were rained out on Friday the 13th.
Three of the quarterfinal matches have already finished with one left go.
